David T. Chastain is a guitar vituoso,
who during the years recorded many albums. However, he managed to stay
modest. Here you can read an interview with a person who knows a lot about
metal.

3.WHEN YOU STARTED PLAYING MUSIC
WHICH AIMS/DREAMS YOU HAD? HAVE YOU MANAGED TO ACHIEVE THEM OR YOU
HAVEN'T SATISFIEDED YET YOUR APPETITE? ARE THERE ANY THINGS
YOU FIND IMPOSSIBLE TO MANAGE?
-
The biggest demand is that I need more
time to do everything in a day that I would like to do. Originally all
I wanted was to be able to record music for myself on a regular basis and
of course I achieved that long ago. My theory has always been "More music
is more important than more money"
4.WHAT INSPIRES YOU THE MOST
WHEN YOU WRITE MUSIC?
-
As soon as I pick up any musical instrument
the music just flows out of me. I need no additional inspiration. I have
a creative river that never shuts off. I could easily do a new Cd every
week if that is all I had to do.
5.NOW IN YOUR BAND YOU HAVE A
NEW GREAT FEMALE SINGER. WHY DO YOU PREFER THE WOMEN VOCALISTS THAN THE
MEN? CAN YOU TELL THE SIMILARITIES AND THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE
NEW SINGER AND LEATHER LEONE? DO YOU THINK THAT METALHEADS CAN EASILY
ACCEPT THE WOMEN VOCALISTS?
-
The female voice just speaks to me
much better than a male. Also a female voice has a higher range and that
helps with some of the melodies I have constructed over the years. Both
Leather and Kate are great vocalists and are very similar. The main differences
are that Kate is a better songwriter and Leather was better in a live environment.
However that might not be fair as I have only played a few shows with Kate.
6.YOU ALSO TAKE PART IN A NEW
BAND CALLED ZANISTER. IS IT ANOTHER PROJECT FOR YOU OR SOMETHING
MORE? WHAT THE NAME ZANISTER MEANS BY THE WAY?
-
ZANISTER is a word I made up that means
"Sophisticated Intensity." Zanister tries to make metal in the fashion
of old Maiden, Priest, Chastain, Sabbath and other true metal bands.
7.DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT
THE GREEK METAL SCENE? WE LEARNED THAT YOU 'LL MAKE THE PRODUCTION
OF THE BAND NAMED FIREWIND, HOW YOU 'VE DECIDED THAT?
-
FIREWIND features the new great guitar
hero GUS G. Gus has been sending me stuff for years and we finally came
up with the new band which also features 2 guys from Kenziner, vocalist
Stephen Fredrick and drummer Brian Harris. The recording is going great
and we expect big things from the band.
8.WOULD YOU LIKE TO COMPOSE THE
SOUNDTRACK FOR A MOVIE? WHICH MOVIE WOULD YOU CHOOSE?
-
Something dark and evil like "The Omen"
or some other heavy duty similar styled movie.
9.IF YOU WEREN'T ABLE TO COMPOSE
MUSIC, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WOULD DO IN YOUR LIFE?
-
Probably be a producer full time. I
also enjoy movies and surprisingly real estate.
10.THANKS FOR THE INTERVIEW!!!
THE LAST WORDS ARE YOURS....
-
Spread the word about real metal and
always Rock Solid!
