LATELY THE THINGS HAVE CHANGED. BLACK METAL DAY BY DAY EARNS MORE AND MORE
GROUND TO UNITED STATES. DECIEVERION FROM PENSYLVANIA BELONGS TO THE LEADERS
OVER THERE AND HERE IS WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY...
1.FIRST OF ALL POINT OUT THE MOST IMPORTANT
OMENTS OF THE BAND'S HISTORY AND INTRODUCE YOURSELVES TO THE READERS.
Hails Christine!!! Decieverion
was conceived in the summer of 2001 and was meant to be a one man black
metal project-during that time three songs were composed(Dawn
Of A Goddess's Desire,In The Name Of All That Is Heathen,Funeral Of Forgotten
Angels)for what became the 2002 demo,which was recorded in January 2002
by myself and Cazz Grant "The Black Lourde Of Crucifixion"(Crucifier,Grand
Belial's Key)...the demo was released in February 2002 upon the masses,and
after that,an offer was made by Crooked Crosses Records to release the
demo with additional tracks,so I entered the studio again with Cazz to
record two new songs(Siren Song Confessions,Visions From The Flaming Skies)
and a Celtic Frost cover (Dethroned Emperor)for the debut album,which was
to be released by Crooked Crosses,but after countless delays on their part,I
decided to go with Hellflame Productions for a vinyl release(released in
January 2003-333 copies)and Non Compos Mentis Records for the CD release(just
released recently-1000 copies)...now,we are planning to record 2 new songs
and a Candlemass cover for an upcoming Decieverion/Operation Winter Mist/Kult
Ov Azazel split CD to be released on Regimental Records...
2.GIVE US A DESCRIPTION OF YOUR MUSICAL
DIRECTION AND NAME SOME OF YOUR MOST BELOVED BANDS AND ALBUMS.
The direction of Decieverion is
pretty melodic,reminiscent of the older Norwegian black metal bands like
Emperor,Satyricon,older Dodheimsgard and Darkthrone without trying to copy
them,plus a lot of the heavy riffing of the early 90's European death metal
movement as well-I have strived to be as original as possible....what
basically started it for me was Iron Maiden,then I gradually moved on to
the early thrash of Metallica, Slayer, Testament and then finally,I moved
on to death and black metal with my early introduction to such killer bands
around that time like Crucifier, Goreaphobia, Unleashed, Incantation, Entombed,
Grave, Mayhem, Darkthrone,etc...you know...my favorites currently are all
of the Crucifier demos,all of the Blood Storm albums,Infernal Hatred,Krieg-Songs
For Resistance,WOMB/Disciples Of Mockery split CD,I could go on forever....
3.HOW MANY RELEASES DO YOU HAVE THIS
FAR? TELL US A FEW THINGS ABOUT THEM AND WHICH THINGS WOULD YOU CORRECT
NOW THAT YOU HAVE THE CHANCE TO LISTEN TO THEM?
So far I have the debut album(which
is the 2002 album and extra songs),I really have no complaints except for
when I recorded the first session back in January 2002 I was extremely
nervous so I had a few mistakes here and there...
4.YOU MADE A DEAL WITH CROOKED CROSSES
RECORDS. HMM..DOESN'T THIS LABEL HAVE A "WEIRD" NAME? WHAT MADE YOU LEAVE?
Well basically,here it is in a
nutshell-at the time I released the 2002 demo,Lord Sedit(ex-Vukodlak,Evil
Divine)was trying to get this label off of the ground called Crooked Crosses,and
I was extremely interested(being that I was friends with him at the time)in
helping him to get this label going,so I asked if he would release the
Decieverion material,and he agreed-between then and now we encountered
countless delays in getting this out due to lack of communication,so after
that,I decided to go with Hellflame Productions and Non Compos Mentis records...the
name is kinda weird,ripping off Slayer if you will,but the only thing about
labels that I am concerned about these days is their reputation within
the underground and whether they can deliver...
5.YOU ARE ABOUT TO RELEASE A 3 WAY
SPLIT CD WITH KULT OV AZAZEL AND OPERATION WINTER MIST. FILL US IN ABOUT
IT. DO YOU THINK SPLIT CD'S HELP THE BANDS?
The idea of releasing this was
an idea of Grymryk(Blut Krieg Sieg 'zine,Rituals Of The Cloven Hoof 'zine)and
it has taken a while,but this will see release later on this year hopefully
by Regimental Records...our side of the split will include 2 new songs(By
Her Dark Caress,Despondent) and a Candlemass cover(Solitude) and will be
recorded soon...split CDs are definitely awesome,especially if you are
into the bands that are doing them with you...I have been into Kult Ov
Azazel for a while since I bought their split with Krieg a while back,plus
we shared the same experience with Crooked Crosses Records...I was also
exposed to Operation Winter Mist last year by getting a copy from Grymryk
and upon my first listen,I was knocked off of my ass..being that Canada
was notorious for bands like Blasphemy and Conquerer,I didn't expect a
full out assault of brutal old school Celtic
Frost/Bathory influence from that part of the country,but they pulled it
off well!!! I am excited about working on the split with these guys as
well and hope that they can come to the US soon...
6.WHERE ARE YOU LYRICS REFERRING TO?
WHAT INSPIRES YOU IN WRITING LYRICS?
A lot of the lyrics I have written
basically deal with hate for religion in general,especially Judeo-Christianity,as
well as atrocities committed by these so-called Christians(example-Siren
Song Confessions deals with the Salem witch trials)...basically,I have
contempt for this world we live in today where people rely on a religion
as a crutch and as a reason for some of the stupid acts they commit,and
this has been evident for over 2000 years...examples of this hypocrisy
are the inquisitions of Europe by the Roman Catholics during the first
1000 years after the false prophet's death in which all of the people of
Europe were forced to convert and were taught that their old ways and the
pagan gods they believed in were a farce,and that worshipping these gods
were not only a sin,but one punishable by death-these Christian faggots
got away with murder, stealing, rape, you name it...and their bible proclaimed
that these acts were sins as well,yet they can commit them,and it's perfectly
fine in their god's eyes?? Same goes here today,where these Catholic priests
here in the US rape little boys and get away with it,because of the hypocrisy
surrounding religion itself!!! What inspires me to write is real life,seeing
these idiots and mindless fucks on the street,day to day,saying "God Bless
You" and all of that nonsense,giving their hard earned money to these churches
and synagogues and believing the lies that they preach...

YOU GOT THIS FAR? WHICH WAS THE BEST AND WHICH WAS THE WORST REVIEW YOU'
VE EVER RECEIVED?
So far it has been reviewed by
Rituals Of The Cloven Hoof 'zine and Battle Webzine,and no complaints have
been given to me thus far....I am definitely happy with the feedback this
has gotten within the black metal underground and hopefully this will continue.
8.HAVE YOU DONE ANY LIVE SHOWS? DO
YOU REMEMBER ANY FUNNY OR WEIRD INCIDENT OCCURRING TO YOU WHILST YOU WERE
PERFORMING LIVE?
No live Decieverion shows,at the
moment we are an incomplete band,plus now I am a member of Crucifier as
bassist and Infernal Hatred doing bass as well...
9.IF YOUR MUSIC WERE AN EMOTION, WHAT
WOULD IT BE? IF IT WERE A PAINTING, WHAT WOULD IT SHOW?
The emotion would be hate,because
hate is an inherited gift of rebellion from the chains of the nazarene
lies...the painting would be black with fires burning worldwide and battlefields
full of blood and lifeless bodies,because warfare is the eternal answer
to oppression...peace will never exist,warfare is eternal....
10.IF YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO MEET THE
CREATURE THAT CREATED THE UNIVERSE, WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO ASK HIM?
If something like that actually
existed,I would ask why would he be so stupid to create idiots with too
much compassion and not enough skill for survival in the world of chaos...
11.YOU ARE GRANTED ONE WISH. WHAT WOULD
YOU DO WITH IT?
Burn every church,synagogue and
mosque to the ground...
12.WHICH ARE THE BEST AND WHICH THE
SILLIEST LYRICS YOU'VE EVER HEARD (DOESN'T HAVE NECESSARILY TO BE FROM
METAL)?
There are too many good songs with
meaningful lyrics that I have heard recently to name here,and certainly
nothing silly recently either...

OR AN IMPORTANT PERSON, WHO WOULD YOU LIKE HIM TO BE AND IS THERE ANYTHING
YOU'D LIKE TO ASK HIM?
Damn,that's a good one!!!! I would
probably want to meet Caligula,because he was the ruler of one of the most
civilized societies of that era - brutal, honest,lustful,everything that
a ruler should be for that time...I would ask him why he wasn't too careful
in whom he chose to help him with his government,because eventually he
was betrayed!!!!
14.IF YOU HAD TO GIVE A TITLE TO YOUR
MUSIC AND TO YOUR MUSIC CAREER IN GENERAL, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
No titles,I would rather let the
