We all know that Germany, as a country is more famous cause of the heavy/power metal scene it has, well the things is about to change, cause with bands like DEFEATED SANITY this country show us that has a quality Death Metal scene also. Lille of D.S. is a person with nice humour and he replies to our questions with sincerity. So read the interview and get your ass off to buy the "Prelude To The Tragedy" CD....

1.HELLO, HOW ARE YOU? YOUR ALBUM "PRELUDE TO THE TRAGEDY" IS A GREAT WORK, HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO PREPARE IT AND COMPOSE THE SONGS? WHICH WAS
THE BIGGEST PROBLEM YOU HAD TO CONFRONT WITH DURING THE RECORDINGS? IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE?
  • Hey I'm doing well, we're getting some kickass response from all over the world right now for "Prelude To The Tragedy"! That rules! The record was composed during almost our whole time of existence, the oldest song (Tortured Existence) is from 1997, the newest (Title Track) from 2004. There were some serious problems with getting the stuff on tape as we wanted it, for example I played some shit too fast on the drums, so the guitarplayer had problems, recording his parts properly on that! I would like to change nothing, I'm just concentrating more on the new record (not to far away)!
2.THE TITLE OF YOUR ALBUM IS "PRELUDE TO THE TRAGEDY". WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU WANT TO SUGGEST WITH THIS TITLE? WHAT KIND OF TRAGEDY DO YOU MEAN?
  • The title is referring to the topic of the title track (cloning of humans). It means, that the rising of the new artificial life, is the beginning of the end of human dignity and will bring big harm over us all!
3.I READ IN YOUR BIO THAT YOUR INTENTION, WHEN YOU FIRST FORMED THE BAND, WAS TO PLAY THE MOST INTENSE AND BRUTAL DEATH METAL THERE IS. HOWEVER 
IN MY OPINION YOUR MUSIC IS MORE INTO TECHNICAL DEATH METAL AND NOT SO BRUTAL. I MEAN THAT EVEN PEOPLE OF OTHER METAL GENRES CAN LISTEN TO IT IF THEY ARE OPEN - MINDED. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT IT? IS IT POSSIBLE THAT BRUTALITY AND TECHNICAL PLAYING ARE TWO THINGS THAT CANNOT BE COMBINED EASILY?
  • Yes I agree, it's very hard to bring those two components together, that the music works, like it should! You gotta find the right mix between primitive shit and technical riffs arrangements. We manage to become better and better with that!
4.ONE OF THE BIGGEST PROBLEMS OF THE GROUP WAS TO FORM A STABLE  LINE-UP. HOW DID THIS AFFECT THE BAND'S CAREER? DID YOU LOSE ANY GOOD OPPORTUNITIES? HOW ARE YOUR RELATIONS WITH THE FORMER BAND MEMBERS?
  • It's a big problem in DeathMetal bands, to find musicians, who are good, dedicated and willing to travel around! We never lost any good opportunities so far (at least I don't remember). The relations with our former members are all good, we are not assholes, when telling someone, we aren't satisfied with the situation. By the way we are again searching for new members now and it fucking sucks,haha!
5.YOUR LABEL SEND ME A PROMO CD-R AND THAT MEANS THAT I DON'T HAVE YOUR LYRICS, SO CAN YOU TELL ME FOR WHAT KIND OF THINGS YOU LIKE TO WRITE AND
TALK ABOUT? HOW IMPORTANT ARE THE LYRICS TO YOU?
  • The concept of the band's lyrics is to prove the fact, that human sanity is coming near to be defeated (religious and science insanity, war.....) !! That's something that fits very good with our more twisted and sick version of deathmetal! So it's a good unity in the end, which is what we are searching for!
6.WHICH BANDS DO YOU THINK HAVE INFLUENCED YOU AS MUSICIANS AND CAN YOU NAME 5 OF YOUR MOST FAVORITE METAL ALBUMS?
  • Although I'm not only listenig to death metal my top five would be(propably):
  • 1. Disgorge - Consume The Forsaken
  • 2. Gorguts - The Erosion Of Sanity
  • 3. Suffocation - Breeding The Spawn
  • 4. Devourment - Molesting The Decapitated
  • 5. Immolation - Here In After
7.YOU EXIST MANY YEARS AND YOU HAVE QUIET ENOUGH RELEASES, SO DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS FOR PUTTING ALL THIS MATERIAL OUT IN ONE CD FOR YOUR FANS?
  • No so far not, cause there's not so much response and we don't like the old stuff anymore. Maybe later!
8.DID YOU INCLUDE ANY OF YOUR OLD COMPOSITIONS IN YOUR DEBUT ALBUM? IF YES, HAVE YOU CHANGED THEM AND IN WHICH WAYS?
  • Yeah there are many old songs on the record (as i told you in quest. 1)! These tunes were too good, to just throw them away, so we wanted to put it on the album, but there were many changes, like making parts shorter or throwing some away. For example in "Horrid Decomposition"!
9.LATELY YOUR COUNTRY IMPRESSED ME WITH THE DEATH METAL BANDS IT HAS.  I ONLY HAVE TO SAY THAT YOUR ALBUM AND DEBAUCHERY'S ARE AMONGST THE BEST
DEATH METAL RELEASES I HAVE LISTENED TO. SO, DOES GERMANY HAVE A DEATH METAL SCENE? CAN YOU NAME SOME OTHER INTERESTING NEW DEATH METAL BAND FROM YOUR COUNTRY?
  • Of course I will name you some great deathmetal bands from Germany!
  • Necrophagist (band of our old guitarplayer Christian M?nzner)
  • Sinners Bleed (band, where I?m doing the second guitar at the moment)
  • Resection (deathgrind with ultra speed drumming)
  • Infested (some kind of math core inspired deathgrind)
  • Despondency (ultra slam deathmetal)
  • Ingurgitating Oblivion (more "spiritual" deathmetal)
  • Profanity (technical sickness)
  • Fortunately there are many good bands here in germany, and there are even more, that I didn't list.............
10.YOU HAVE PLAYED MANY LIVE SHOWS SUPPORTING SOME OF THE MOST KNOWN NAMES OF EXTREME METAL. WHICH OF THEM DID YOU LIKE AS MUSICIANS AND PERSONS AND WHY?
  • In fact, we didn't open for so much well known bands. The only one of the really well known, that we got to know and hang out with were SUFFOCATION and they were really cool guys and of course they are still one of the most professional bands out there.
11.GRINDETHIC RECORDS IS NOT A VERY WELL KNOWN LABEL. WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THEM? ARE YOU STILL SATISFIED? WILL YOU RELEASE 
YOUR NEXT ALBUM AS WELL FROM THE SAME LABEL?
  • Jon showed us REAL interest from the beginning, he showed us, that he cares about the quality of the music and nothing else. And that?s what made us to sign the contract with him. Also he?s doing awesome promotion and you can find GRINDETHIC articles at every stand in european concerts, as well as overseas! We are really really satisfied with the job they did for us! For the next album, we don't want (and are not able) to pay any money for studio (or anything else), so that lies in Jon's hands, if he can do the next record! We would love to tour around and for this you maybe need more connections and maybe a bigger label. But we will see, It would be awesome to see Grindethic and Defeated Sanity grow together, you know?
12.HOW DID THE PRESS AND FANS RECEIVE YOUR ALBUM TILL NOW? HOW EASY IS IT TO ACCEPT A BAD REVIEW? WHAT WAS THE WORST REVIEW THAT YOU READ ABOUT

  • It's pretty easy to get along with a bad review, cause we don't need compliments from retarded fucks, hahaha! No seriously, there wasn't a single bad review so far.
13.DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS FOR LIVE SHOWS? IS IT POSSIBLE TO PLAY OUTSIDE OF GERMANY TOO? WOULD YOU LIKE TO COME FOR A LIVE SHOW HERE IN GREECE?
  • We would love to play everywhere in the world believe me. We are playing the Rotterdam Deathfest next May for example! It would be fucking great to play in Greece, maybe together with the awesome INVERACITY!! The only thing that's really annoying, is that we don't get enough money for travelling costs. We don't want to pay to play, you know?
