after two years with a new bombastic album. Behind The Veil interviews
the mysterious mr. Sacra. Read the following lines to learn more about

1.IT'S BEEN ALMOST 2 YEARS
SINCE YOUR LATEST STUDIO ALBUM. WHAT HAS CHANGED SINCE THEN?

We are older and more experienced,
we have brand new ideas that put them into music. We also have spent 3-4
times a weak in the studio for the past months.
2.YOU HAVE A NEW ALBUM CALLED "DEATH
CULT ARMAGEDDON". WHAT'S THE MEANING BEHIND THESE WORDS?
-
I think that the meaning of Death Cult
Armageddon is clear, is a message for the war against Christianity. Apocalyptic,
dark passage where the world at the end is dying. A cult of people who
will bring the Armageddon into the world and a war against religion
3.IS IT A CONCEPT ALBUM? WHAT IS IT
TALKING ABOUT?
-
The lyrics are dark as usual, we have
our trademark playing and some orchestral parts. You can say that the whole
subject is about the end of everything after the coming of Armageddon.
4.WHAT CAN THE DIMMU BORGIR FANS EXPECT
FROM THIS ALBUM?
-
They can expect a very professional
record and new elements in our songs. We haven’t changed our style of playing,
but they can expect a tough album, with the quality of Dimmu Borgir. You
can expect a rootback in the early years of the Band, but with modern sound
and production.
5.HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED ANY KIND OF
PROBLEMS DURING THE RECORDING-MIXING OF DEATH CULT ARMAGEDDON?

Not really, that happened most in the
past. When you are in the production procedure, you can never expect what
problems will you face up. As I told you, I think we are an experienced
band and we know how to deal with these problems.
6.WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE SONG FROM
THIS ALBUM ?
-
I cant say that I have a favorite song
on Death Cult Armageddon. I like all the songs of this album. Every
song is different and I am sure that you will find many quality songs
in this album Every song is unique.
7.HOW CAN YOU DESCRIBE THE BLACK METAL
GENRE NOWADAYS?
-
It has become stronger and stronger
and, has changed a lot. Now they are so many bands that play well. Some
bands play traditional style and others try be more modern. I like the
black metal that is being played by bands like Thorns, Mayhem and Darkthrone.
8.WHICH IS BLACK METAL'S TRADEMARK?
THE DARK LYRICS OR THE BOMBASTIC RIFFS?
-
Basically the anti-christianic concept
and of course the vocals and the lyrics.
9.WHAT DO YOU THINK OF PROJECT BANDS
LIKE ARCTURUS OR ULVER THAT TRY TO PLAY EXPERIMENTAL BLACK METAL?
-
Arcturus is a talented band, but I
don’t think that they are playing Black Metal, it sounds like progressive
to my ears. Both bands have inspired ideas for music and they are developing
over the years.
10.HOW DO YOU IMAGINE THE BLACK METAL
OF THE FUTURE TO BE? HOW DO YOU THINK THE BANDS WILL PLAY (MORE ELECTRO
ELEMENTS, ELSS BACKING VOCALS)?

I don’t know, I cant predict how Black
metal is going to be in the future. Dimmu Borgir will maintain their roots
and evolve. We listen to various kinds of music like blues, heavy
metal, even Pop and we are listening to everything new.
11.YOU HAVE YOUR OWN WEBSITE. DO YOU
THINK THAT INTERNET HELPS A BAND TO BETTER PROMOTE ITS WORK?

I haven’t thought about it! It is good
for the fans because they can get information about the tour and the releases.
12.YOU WILL COME AND PLAY IN GREECE
THIS FALL. WHAT'S YOUR OPINION ABOUT THE GREEK BLACKMETALLERS?
-
This is going to be our first time
in Greece. I know that they are very enthousiastic audience and have some
great bands such as Rotting Christ and Thou Art Lord. We are looking forward
to playing in Greece for two shows.
