DREAMAKER
It's arare thing meeting with women that are so much into metal and so devoted to what they are doing. Elisa has proven throughout the years her love for heavy metal through various bands and it was about time to form a band of her, where she could make her own musical vision come true. You can read below what she told us about the band and Dreamaker's music...

1.HELLO ELISA! HOW ARE YOU? I'VE NOTICED MANY DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE SOUND OF DREAMAKER AND DARK MOOR, BUT I THINK SINCE YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS BAND, YOU SHOULD SPEAK...
Hi Nick, I'm fine thank you... Well, I think that in this first album there are two or three songs that can remind the sound of Dark Moor but I can tell you that we do aggressive, melodic and direct music… I think that we are offering a new way for the future in the Heavy Metal, people is bored to listen always to the same kind of riffs, the same vocal lines… we are offering something new and something different.
2.I'VE ALSO NOTICED A CONTRADICTION BETWEEN THE BAND'S NAME AND YOUR LYRICS. MOST OF THE TIMES DREAMS ARE GOOD AND GIVE HOPE TO HUMANS, BUT YOUR LYRICS ARE DARKER AND SOMETIMES PESIMISTIC. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT?
When you dream you can see beautiful or bad dreams. I think that in my lyrics I reflect myself and the sadness that sometimes there is inside of me (all lyrics speaks of my life). All the things of our lives always are not pretty. Simply I explain in my lyrics the life that I am living at those moments, nothing else.
3.ELISA, I WANT TO TAKE YOU BACK IN TIME, EVEN BEFORE DARK MOOR, WHEN YOU WERE IN A BAND CALLED SABATAN. WHAT DO YOU REMEMBER FORM THOSE TIMES AND WHY DID YOU LEAVE THAT BAND? ARE YOU STILL INTERESTED IN IT AND SUPPORTIVE? WHICH WAS THE FIRST BAND YOU STARTED YOUR CAREER WITH?
The first metal band was Necrópolis.  I was only twelve years old when I sang in a heavy metal concert. I will never forget this day, never! I was so nervous... I remember that the guitar player has broken a cord and I had to speak to people until he changed it... It was my first concert! What I say? W hat I do? Then I sang a song of Janis Joplin "Mercedes Benz" without music... I have learned very much since then... Well, I sang in Necrópolis, Five Cross and Sabatan (in this band 8 years!!!). With this band I obtained to a site in the metal sceme in my country because I was a woman and I sang in English. We were able to be the supporting act of great Spanish groups and everything was perfect until one of the guitarists wanted to make the things his way and without counting on anybody so I decided to leave the band and to look for another group. Now we are friends and I sing with them whenever they remain without singer and they have some concert. We are friends and I help them whenever I can.
4.WHICH WAS THE REASON THAT MADE YOU, ALBERT MAROTO AND JORGE SAEZ LEAVE DARK MOOR? WAS IT DUE TO MUSICAL DISAGREEMENTS?
We wanted to do a more powerful music, more aggressive and direct and  it wasn't possible with Dark Moor, so we decided to do another band where we were able to do it... DREAMAKER!!!
5.I PERSONALLY BELIEVE THAT YOUR VOCALS PERFECTLY MATCH TO THE MUSIC OF DREAMAKER, WHICH IS MORE STRAIGHTFORWARD HEAVY METAL THAN DARK MOOR'S SYMPHONIC STYLE. DO YOU AGREE AND WHY?
I agree with you. I'm a metal singer and my voice is too strong for a woman and this is really good for me because I love to sing metal and this kind of music needs a powerful voice (in my opinion). I feel better singing the songs of Dreamaker because I can sing agressive, melodic, sweet, with power... my voice acquires more registries, more kind of voices. Dreamaker is a very pleasant group for a singer.
6.THE COVER ARTWORK OF YOUR DEBUT CD WAS MADE BY NIKLAS SUNDIN, WHO IS MOSTLY KNOWN CAUSE OF HIS BAND DARK TRANWQUILLITY. HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO COOPERATE WITH HIM AND HOW IS THE ARTWORK RELATED TO YOUR MUSIC AND LYRICS? DON'T YOU THINK THAT YOUR ARTWORK HAS SOME SIMILARITIES WITH IN FLAMES' "REROOT TO REMAIN" ARTWORK MADE BY THE SAME ARTIST?
The cover has been drawn by Niklas who has worked for In Flames or  Arch Enemy. The drawing and the title is because it reflects what we feel in this moment like a human device, prepared for everything... All the works of Niklas have their personal style so it's normal that there are drawings that look like but  he is never thinking of making them look similar.
7.YOU WILL HAVE THE PRIVILEGE TO BE ON TOUR WITH FALCONER AND DOOMSWORD, WHICH ARE 2 GREAT BANDS THAT I PERSONALLY LIKE A LOT. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT IT? HAVE YOU LISTENED TO THE LATEST WORKS OF BOTH OF THEM AND IF YES WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THEM?
We are very happy to play with Falconer and Doomsword. It is a privilege! Falconer and Dark Moor played together in a festival in Spain and we already know each other. I  haven’t yet listened to their last albums...
8.YOU ARE A WOMAN AND NOT BAD LOOKING AT ALL. WHY DID YOU SELECT TO BE IN A METAL BAND AND NOT A POP GROUP AND EARN MORE MONEY EASIER? WHY, DO YOU THINK, THE MAJORITY OF WOMEN DOESN'T LISTEN TO HEAVY METAL?
Ever since I was 5 years old and I sang in the choir of the school I wanted to sing heavy metal because I watched in the television to Rob Halford and I wanted to be like him. The pop world has never attracted me. I will never be rich as Madonna but I am a singer of heavy metal and that is always inside my heart, for me heavy metal is freedom.... Day by day there are more women who listen to this kind of music and go to the concerts and I feel very proud of which every time we are more women within this world... Up metal women!!!
9.A CONTINUATION OF THE PREVIOUS QUESTION IS THAT ALTHOUGH THERE ARE NOT MANY WOMEN IN METAL, THERE ARE SOME LADIES WHO SING IN METAL BANDS. WHICH OF THEM DO YOU ADMIRE AND YOU THINK INFLUENCED YOU THE MOST?
The woman that I admire is Doro Pesch, she is the woman more fighter and more heavy than I have known! I wanted to be like her, not to sound like her but  because of her history... She continues singing and making cds, she is the metal queen .
10.EXCEPT FOR DREAMAKER YOU ALSO SANG IN ANOTHER BAND. WHICH WAS IT? WAS IT JUST A GUEST APPEARANCE OR ARE YOU A FULL TIME MEMBER THERE TOO?
I sang in a French band called Fairyland but it was only a guest appearance.
11.IN "HUMAN DEVICE" SOME FAMOUS MUSICIANS ALSO PARTICIPATE. WHO ARE THEY AND HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO MAKE THEM COOPERATE WITH YOU?
We wanted to make some guttural voices and choirs so we spoke with Nino (Thunderstone) about this. He called the bassplayer of the death metal band Impaled Nazarene (Ark666) who sang in the song Welcome to my Hell with  Jorge Saez (the Dreamaker's drummer). The choirs of  "Human Device" are done by Albert, Pasi Rantanen (Thunderstone), Robin Wickman (Lovestone) and me.
12.IF YOUR MUSIC WERE AN EMOTION, WHAT WOULD IT BE? IF IT WERE A PAINTING, WHAT WOULD IT SHOW?
Emotion:  mixture of aggressiveness and sweetness.
Painting: an expressionism painting, where the feelings leave inside outwards.
13.WHICH IS, ACCORDING TO YOU, THE BEST AND WHICH THE WORST PART IN YOUR MUSIC? WHICH IS YOUR TRADEMARK?
You cannot say to a mother to say bad things for her son and "Human Device" is my first son. I like to do music without thinking of a certain style, to do what you want and like, that is the best thing that our music has. Two of my favorite songs are  Alone Again and Nigthmares Factory but I love all the songs!!!
14.WHICH WORDS DO YOU THINK COULD BEST DESCRIBE "HUMAN DEVICE" AND YOUR MUSIC IN GENERAL?
Metal done from the heart and without censorships.
15.THANK YOU! IS THERE ANYTHING MORE YOU'D LIKE TO ADD? LEAVE YOUR MESSAGE...
I hope to sing someday in your country,  you'll never forget our concert ;-) Many kisses, your  friend... Elisa!
