FARHENHEIT
Metal is not only noise…This is what the guys from Farhenheit stated and this is what they come to prove to all of us! Will they achieve it? I guess they will. Just listen to their music and you’ll be convinced too, like I was!

1.HELLO! FIRST OF ALL MAKE A PRESENTATION OF THE BAND POINTING OUT THE MOST IMPORTANT MOMENTS OF YOUR HISTORY AND INTRODUCING YOURSELVES TO THE READERS.
Originally Fahrenheit sees the light in Guadalajara, back in 1997 with a different musical proposal. After a while the band is dissolved and Alejandro, still dreaming of making a band or joining one, moves to Juarez for personal reasons. There he would find Luis Armendariz and in October 2000, the opportunity to make a band with the characteristics that we now have. Shortly after Carlos Flores would join as keyboardist. New members join and leave, and in May 2002 Antonio Bernal enters as bass player. Alejandro got to know Luis thanks to a radio broadcast where he was   singing with his old band. After some searching and a couple of coincidences, they finally met and started plotting and inviting musicians for the band. Carlos Flores, cousin of Alejandro is invited at first because of his piano skills, but as a session musician only, since his influences were not metal oriented at that time, but when he got to know more about the project he got so interested that now he’s one of the composers and who mainly writes the lyrics. Carlos and Alejandro met Antonio at a party in Guadalajara, where they saw him playing with his former band. Just after Epic Enter was recorded (May 2002), he was formally invited to join in. The band has suffered some changes due to personal and musical interests, right now we’re in process of auditioning for the new band members. The main core remains:
    Luis Armendariz - Vocals
    Antonio Bernal - Bass Guitar
    Carlos Flores - Keyboards
    Alejandro Isaac - Guitar
2.WHY DID YOU NAME THE BAND FARHENHEIT? DO YOU WANT TO SUGGEST PERHAPS THAT YOUR MUSIC WILL CAUSE "HIGH TEMPERATURES" OR WHAT?
We chose the name because it does represent energy, and we do all we can to fill our music with it. Also, it’s a name known all over the world, making it easier to remember.
3.TELL US A FEW THINGS REGARDING YOUR LATEST RELEASE (WHO IS THE PRODUCER, HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO RECORD IT, WHERE WAS IT RECORDED, ETC.). ARE YOU STILL SATISFIED WITH IT?
We were working against the clock, there were a couple of deadlines to meet, one of them was to send one of our songs for the U.S. Prog Power Fest III sampler CD. Secondly, Alejandro was going to Germany because of his job, the opportunity to be at the Wacken Open Air, and distribute some CD’s, could not be missed. We basically took over a small local studio and did the recording by ourselves. Our sound engineer Hugo Trevizo helped tremendously to produce that sound on time - doing everything in two weeks and mixed in one long day. No big names producing, just us trying to bring the best sound we could at the moment. We’re very satisfied with the fact that “Epic Enter” has opened many doors for us in such a short time. Nevertheless, we definitely feel that the sound can be improved, the mixing, the performance itself... we really want to show this on our next recording.
4.WHERE ARE YOUR LYRICS REFERRING TO? IT'S A CONCEPT STORY, SO COULD YOU TELL US SOME GENERAL THINGS REGARDING THE CONCEPT?
All of the songs revolve around stories, themes and subjects that we like, either by having seen, read, or heard about them. Others are stories made up by ourselves. There’s no real connection, other than being mystical, part of a mystery, or dreams to fulfill.
5.YOU ARE PLANNING TO RELEASE SOON YOUR NEW ALBUM. TELL US A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE NEW SONGS AND THEIR SOUND. WILL THIS ALBUM BE A CONCEPT TOO?
The theme of the songs fall more into dreamlands, feelings, inner struggles. We’re aiming at creating a richer atmosphere for each song, having a more experimental sound. We are very satisfied with the new compositions.
6.WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO A FAN, UNFAMILIAR TO YOUR MUSIC, TO WIN HIS ATTENTION? WHICH IS THE MOST CHARACTERISTIC PART IN YOUR MUSIC?
That not everything in metal is noise, keep an open mind to new proposals. The new generation of metal musicians tries to combine several influences to produce a richer kind of music. As to our most characteristic part, we like having a balance of strength and grace, with each song having a personality of its own. There’s always something new and different to listen.
7.DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS FOR LIVE APPEARANCES? DO YOU LIKE PERFORMING LIVE? HOW IMPORTANT DO YOU THINK ARE LIVE SHOWS FOR A METAL BAND?
Of course, we do have plans to play live wherever we can, in and out of Mexico, depending on the opportunities available. We love playing live, that is the fastest way to reach people and to connect with them.
8.IF YOU HAD THE MONEY TO MAKE AN EXPENSIVE VIDEO CLIP, WHICH SONG WOULD YOU CHOOSE AND HOW DO YOU IMAGINE IT TO BE?
Dark Storm is our main pick, using large scenarios, armies, friends and foes, within a medieval environment. We’ll see in the future.
9.WHICH IS THE SILLIEST THING YOU DID IN ORDER TO WIN A WOMAN'S ATTENTION?
Antonio’s story is the best one: when he was 10 years old, in order to have his first girlfriend, she asked him to pull his pants down in front of the whole class, and he did it. Of course he was suspended for a week, but he got what he wanted.
10.IF YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO MEET THE CREATURE THAT CREATED THE UNIVERSE, WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO ASK HIM?
Where are we heading to? Are we walking the right path?
11.YOU ARE GRANTED ONE WISH. WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH IT?
We would ask for more wishes, so we could ask for wishes until our dying days, and maybe ask for immortality.
12.IF YOU COULD TRAVEL BACK IN TIME, WHICH HISTORICAL PERIOD WOULD YOU LIKE TO VISIT AND WHAT WOULD YOU MISS THE MOST FROM OUR TIMES?
Ancient times, to see the first civilizations, to learn about them and their culture. Of course we would miss all the good things that technology can give you. Also it would be interesting to visit the time of great composers, such as Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Paganini, etc.
13.WHAT TITLE WOULD YOU LIKE THIS INTERVIEW TO HAVE?
HIGH TEMPERATURES FROM THE NEW WORLD.

14.THANK YOU! IS THERE ANYTHING MORE YOU'D LIKE TO MENTION?

Thanks for this opportunity, it would be amazing to visit Greece,  to meet the crew from Behind the Veil and all of the metallers from the Mediterranean.
