FIRES OF GOMORRAH
Fires Of Gomorrah is a new born band hailing us from the U.S. A band with a well set and established philosophy and ideology, whose members aren't afraid of criticizing whatever annoys them! Enter if you dare!

1.FIRST OF ALL POINT OUT THE MOST IMPORTANT MOMENTS OF THE BAND'S HISTORY AND INTRODUCE YOURSELVES TO THE READERS...
The most important moment in the band's history at this point would be us deciding to do this band.  The lineup so far is Russ Strahan(guitar), Steve Rickman(keyboard), John Grden(drums) & newest addition Allen ex Burned to Ashes(vocal).
2.HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR MUSICAL STYLE? NAME SOME OF YOUR MOST BELOVED BANDS AND ALBUMS. WHICH ARE THE MUSICIANS THAT HELPED YOU REALIZE THAT THIS IS WHAT YOU WANTED TO DO IN YOUR LIVES? WHO GAVE YOU YOUR MUSICAL VISION?
We call ourselves black/death metal but our style has elements of many different kinds of music. Some of our favorite stuff to listen to right now is Morbid Angel - Heretic, Hypocrisy - Into the Abyss, Dimmu - all,  Edge of Sanity - Crimson,  Krisiun, Children of Bodom, Old Man's Child, Arch Enemy, Bloodbath but there's so much more. I just heard this band called Soilwork, awesome solos & I listen to Snakenet Metal Radio online. Some of my influences for guitar are Jimi Hendrix, Jimi Page, Frank Zappa, Eddie Van Halen, Uli John Roth, Yngwie, Steve Vai, Tom G. Warrior, Mantis, Chuch Schuldiner, Kerry King, Trey Azagthoth, Eric Ruttan, Eric & Brian Hoffman, Terrance Hobbs, Michael & Christopher Amott... damn there's just too many. John likes Pete Sandoval & Derik Roddy allot.  Steve likes Bach & Mozart. I haven't had a chance to ask Allen yet.
3.SO, SINCE I HAVEN'T LISTENED TO YOUR DEMO TELL US A FEW THINGS ABOUT IT. WHERE WAS IT RECORDED? DID YOU USE THE HELP OF A PRODUCER? ARE YOU SATISFIED BY THE FINAL RESULT? IF YOU COULD CHANGE SOMETHING NOW WHAT WOULD THAT BE?
The first thing we recorded was at our studio using a roland vs. digital board.  It is self produced,  is kind of rough, as it was recorded live and we did not have a singer at the time but the mastering sounds good.  If all goes as planned, we will be recording at Nightsky studios with Ron Vento (Aurora Borealis) in about 2 or 3 months & will subsequently be  promoting the dogshit out of it until we get some offers. I don't foresee us changing anything as we all have great chemistry & dig what were coming up with.
4.YOU HAVE PARTICIPATED IN MANY BANDS AND IN MOST OF THEM RUSS AND JOHN YOU HAVE BEEN TOGETHER. SO WHY DIDN'T YOU FORM YOUR OWN BAND RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING INSTEAD OF PLAYING IN SO MANY BANDS? WHAT DID YOU EARN FROM THIS EXPERIENCE?
Well we always talked about starting our own thing but it just wasn't the right time, and I'll tell you, we both learned many valuable lessons along the way. It just always seemed that one of us was committed to a band or something. The cards have all just fallen into place & now is the right time for us to unleash our brand of metal upon the earth.
5.WHERE ARE YOUR LYRICS REFERRING TO AND HOW IMPORTANT ARE THEY FOR YOU?  WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO WRITE LYRICS AND WHAT CAN TAKE THE INSPIRATION AWAY FROM YOU?
We mostly write about how fucked up religion has made people for so many decades.  The self righteous bastards who persecute everyone who doesn't agree with their views, the Catholic Church covering up preachers raping little boys, the people who are so stubborn they don't have any desire to experience life, waiting for the stairway to the fucking stars and Jesus to lead them like the sheep they are! I mean there is so much inspiration for our lyrics with all that is going on around us everyday, we could write for eons.
6.HOW IMPORTANT IS IMAGE, PHILOSOPHY AND IDEOLOGY BEHIND A BAND? WHICH IS THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND FIRES OF GOMORRAH?
All of these things play a part in Fires of Gomorrah.  Our Philosophy is fuck religion, it had its chance and has failed miserably.  All of the important moral values can be taught without the fear, hate & dogma.  I mean come on fucking Santa Clause?  Can you believe these idiots lie to there own children because it's fun?  And what kind of people can they expect to raise when  they say to them "it's different because its a religious holliday"?  Later they wonder why their kid got arrested selling crack.  It's a fucking disease that needs  to be put out of its misery & we are part of the cure!
7.DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS FOR LIVE SHOWS? WHAT SHOULD THE METALLERS EXPECT FROM A FIRES OF GOMORRAH LIVE SHOW? SHARE SOME OF YOUR EXPERIENCES FROM YOUR LIVE SHOWS WITH US...
Yes we will be doing some shows as soon as we have a full time bass player. Our shows are gonna' be like hells fury on stage. We are all active and like to put on a show for people. I feel every show I have played with all the bands I have been in have been a blast however, when I was in Iconoclasm opening up for Death on the Sound of Perseverance tour was one of the biggest honors I have ever had as a musician. Chuck was one of the nicest people in the world and will be sorely missed.
8.WHICH IS ACCORDING TO YOU THE BEST AND WHICH THE WORST PART IN YOUR MUSIC? WHICH IS YOUR TRADEMARK AS A BAND?
I don't think that there is anything I dislike or would change about our music.  This is what I have been trying to accomplish for so many years.  Our trademark is definitely our sound.  As many times as John has asked me, I still can't figure out who we sound like.
9.IF YOUR MUSIC WERE AN EMOTION, WHAT WOULD IT BE? IF IT WERE A PAINTING, WHAT WOULD IT SHOW?
Our music is comprised of beauty, sadness, a lust for life & pure fucking hate!  If it were a painting it would be a burning bag of crap on George Bush's doorstep.
10.IF YOU HAD A PROPOSAL TO DO A VIDEO CLIP, WHICH SONG OF YOURS WOULD YOU CHOOSE AND HOW DO YOU IMAGINE IT TO BE?
I don't know what song it would be yet but our keyboardist Steve wants to do a video with a bunch of rabid metal heads playing king of the mountain on a gigantic fuckin' hill.
11.ARE YOU SATISFIED BY THE FEEDBACK YOU GET? WHICH IS THE BEST AND WHICH THE WORST REVIEW YOU HAVE RECEIVED? IS THERE A COMMON ELEMENT YOU SEE REPEATED IN ALMOST ALL THE REVIEWS YOU RECEIVE? HAVE YOU SENT THE DEMO TO ANY LABELS? DO YOU HAVE ANY OFFERS?
Absolutely!  All criticism is beneficial however, everyone who has heard our stuff gives us a positive reaction.  The most common element in reviews is how unbelievably awesome I am (laughing)!  As I mentioned before we will be flooding the industry once we are finished at Nightsky and hope to secure a deal shortly after.
12.IF YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO TRAVEL BACK IN TIME, WHICH HISTORICAL PERIOD WOULD YOU LIKE TO VISIT AND WHY?
I think I'd rather just stay here where I can crap in a toilet.
13.DO YOU THINK THAT PERHAPS GOD GOT SO FRIGHTENED OF WHAT HE CREATED THAT HE MOVED TO HEAVEN IN ORDER TO KEEP DISTANCE FROM HIS CREATIONS? :))
Fuckin' right!  If you were God wouldn't you?
14.LET'S SUPPOSE THAT WE LIVE IN A WORLD WITHOUT MUSIC. WHAT WOULD YOU DO IN SUCH A CASE?
Personally I could not even fathom such a prospect but if so I would be the Angel of Death.
15.IF YOU WERE A FLY, WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE AND WHY?
If I were a fly my ideal environment would be a top a steaming pile of shit covered in blood & beer puke.
16.THANK YOU! HAVE I FORGOTTEN TO ASK YOU ANYTHING AND YOU'D LIKE TO MENTION?
I think that about covers it, thanks so much for the opportunity and for helping to promote the underground. And please visit www.firesofgomorrah.com our official website.
