1.FIRST OF ALL, POINT OUT THE MOST IMPORTANT
ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE BAND TILL NOW. WHICH ARE IRON BITCHFACE'S AIMS? INTRODUCE
THE LINE UP TO THE READERS.
The fact that we have been around for
so long is pretty impressive, people seem to keep encouraging us. We are
going to Europe to tour this summer and have a pro cd release slotted for
July release on Not Common Records, that's pretty big to me as well. Aims.............
it's all about having fun, no hidden agenda really. ...and the members.
Ok members gets a bit tricky. CDs are recorded as solo projects by myself
(K-Rot), sometimes Milkbagbrother helps with recordings. Live we have a
few drummers, but the two most common ones at shows are Stagefright and
Dr.Crud, live guitars are done by Deevon666 and I handle vocals live as
well as keys, samples, drum machines and other noisy stuff.
2.BY THE WAY HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THIS LOGO?
THE FIRST HALF OF YOUR LOGO REMINDS ME OF SOMETHING... :)
No idea what you are talking about...NEXT!
The name comes from just hanging out with friends and me screaming "I am
bitchface" over and over again until it blended into "iron bitchface" which
made me laugh a lot and that is when I decided I will be in a band called
iron bitchface.
3. RECENTLY YOU HAVE PARTICIPATED IN A COMPILATION
CD BY STEVIE HAYES LABEL CALLED "UNCONSTITUTIONALISM IN THE USA". TELL
US A FEW THINGS ABOUT IT. WHICH OTHER BANDS DID YOU LIKE FROM THIS COMPILATION?
I came in on the end of this project. Pretty
much Stevie Hayes added me to AIM and I sent him the new album and he loved
it! (so he said) and asked if I wanted to be on his compilation. So, being
in the whore out band that never says no to releases, IBF is now on the
cd. End of story!
4.WITH WHICH CRITERIA HAVE YOU CHOSEN THE SONGS
THAT WOULD REPRESENT YOU IN THIS COMPILATION?
When Stevie asked me which songs I would like
to contribute to the CD I just told him to pick his favourites and that's
what he did.
5.YOU ARE ONE OF THE FASTEST NOISE GRIND METAL
BANDS. YOUR SONGS HAVE EXTREMELY SHORT DURATIONS. SO, WHAT'S YOUR RECORD?
HOW LONG IS THE LONGEST AND THE SHORTEST SONG OF YOURS?
The longest song I have ever done was in the
four minute range, a song called Necro Battle Fuck 666. The shortest song
I've done is a song called Tacos off the Spread the Virus floppy disk.
It's less then a second long and actually clocks in at zero seconds in
the time listings that a computer makes when reading it.
6. FILL US IN ON THE BAND RELEASES AND POINT OUT
THE MAIN DIFFERENCES AND SIMILARITIES AMONG THEM. DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS
FOR A NEW RELEASE? IF YES, GIVE US SOME INFO?
So many releases! I'll just mention the two
newest ones. There is the Enter the Goatheaded God demo which is the one
that everyone is giving good reviews at the moment and the Split with Kindergarten
Hazing Ritual and Drawing Horse. Goatheded God is grim black noise where
as the KHR split is more upbeat and synthy, I guess that's how you would
describe them. I don't really stick to a specific sound for much longer
then one album, so they all vary.
Plenty of plans for new releases. The Batwings
and Battle Axes dvd is almost done (will probably be done by the time this
interview gets submitted) It documents our tour across Canada last summer.
I also have the split on Not Common Records coming out soon. It will be
a while before the new releases stop coming, I'll always be working on
something.
7. WHAT ABOUT THE LYRICAL CONTENT OF YOUR SONGS?
TELL US A FEW THINGS ABOUT THEM. CAN YOU WRITE ANY LYRICS AT ALL WITH SUCH
SHORT SONGS? WHICH ARE YOUR SOURCES OF INSPIRATION?
The majority of songs are based on true happenings
and inside jokes and just funny shit that my friends and I come across
that seem song worthy. Other songs are just titles that I think sound neat
(such as on the Goatheaded God demo) and I made songs based on them. Yes,
there are lyrics in the songs, some are very basic others get more complex
and go into the couple of sentences range!
8.ARE YOU SATISFIED BY THE FEEDBACK YOU'VE GOT
SO FAR FROM THE PRESS AND FANS? WHAT WAS THE MOST FLATTERING AND WHAT WAS
THE WORST COMMENT YOU'VE READ?
I am very satisfied with the feedback. I know
my stuff is bad, so when I get reviews saying it's bad I love those ones
the most. (IE. the Metal Maniacs review that said I am ruining grindcore
or something close to that, which is fine cause we really aren't a grindcore
band haha) I have been getting good reviews lately too. The review from
wavelength that says we will make WolfEyes cry is a pretty flattering one.
As for fans, I think the DVDs speak for themsleves.
9. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME TO WRITE
A REVIEW FOR VARIOUS REASONS. DO YOU INTEND TO PROVOKE PEOPLE OR TO HAVE
A GOOD LAUGH?
Hmmm can the good laugh be caused by provoking
people? Like I said earlier it's all for fun for me. If people want to
have a good time with it as well then that's an extra bonus.
10. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE IRON BITCHFACE
AND YOUR MUSIC TO SOMEONE THAT HAS NEVER HEARD OF YOU? I'M CURIOUS TO FIND
OUT.
I like to open our sets with the intro "We
are Iron Bitchface, and we are here to aurally rape fuck you!" I think
that statement gets the point across. But influence and sound wise, I'd
say you would have to imagine Prince and the New Power Generation (or The
Revolution) having a dance battle against Gorgoroth.
11. WHAT'S THE BEST AND WHAT'S THE WORST
PART IN YOUR MUSIC, ACCORDING TO YOU?
The best part is making it as well as getting
to show it to people for the first time, their reactions can be pretty
interesting and amusing. I can't think of a worst, I'm doing what I love
doing. I'm sure there has to be something that pisses me off on occassion,
but nothing comes to minds at the moment.
12. DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS FOR LIVE SHOWS?
WHAT SHOULD THE METALHEADS EXPECT TO SEE?
We've been playing live for years now. We
are heading off to Europe this summer. As for things you can expect to
see, well first off the musical equivalent of an abortion right there on
stage. We have inverted crosses, blood, guitar spins, axes, knives, swords,
all and all we try to put on an entertaining show so the people in the
crowd can have as much fun as we are having up there doing it.
13. IF YOUR MUSIC WERE AN EMOTION, WHAT
WOULD IT BE? IF IT WERE A PAINTING, WHAT WOULD IT SHOW OR SYMBOLIZE?
Wow! That is a deep intellectual question.
All I can say is that is much too deep and serious to even go near when
talking about Iron Bitchface.
14. IF YOU COULD BE A FAMOUS PERSON FOR
A DAY, WHO WOULD YOU BE AND WHICH PERIOD OF HIS/HER LIFE WOULD YOU LIKE
TO HAVE A TASTE OF?
Hate to be boring, but I really can't think
of anyone. If I get famous then I'll go with me haha
15. LET?S SUPPOSE THAT SUDDENLY ONE DAY
ELECTRICITY CEASED TO EXIST. WHAT DO YOU THINK WOULD HAPPEN TO EXTREME
MUSIC?
I think a lot of people would be pissed! Luckily
we already have a few acoustic shows under our belt so we'd be ahead of
the game!
