Liv Christine is the
former vocal singer for Theater Of Tragedy. Nowadays she has formed a new
group called Leave’s Eyes and Behind The Veil had the chance to interview
her.
1. YOU WILL SOON RELEASE AN NEW ALBUM UNDER
THE BANDNAME LEAVES' EYES. FIRSTLY CAN YOU TELL ME SOMETHING
ABOUT LEAVE’S EYES AND SECONDLY TELL ME SOMETHING ABOUT THE “SOUND”OF YOUR
UPCOMING ALBUM CALLED “LOVELORN” ? WHAT CAN EXPECT A MUSIC FAN FROM THIS
ALBUM?

Well, Leave’s eyes is a concept I had when I was
with Theater Of Tragedy. Although I didn’t had much time to make it in
the studio. But now, with the help of the guys from Atrocity I managed
to have this band and of course the record. I had also time to work on
my voice, it’s a little bit different than the past. You will notice that
when you hear the album The sound of this album is very complex. There
are some classical metal songs, nice ballands, beautiful melodies and of
course there are bombastic and heavy stuff.
2. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS AS A TITTLE,
WHERE IS IT REFERRING TO? IS IT A CONCEPT ALBUM? OR THERE ARE INDEPENDENT
SONGS WITH COMMON REFERENCES?

Lovelorn it’s a concept album. It’s a dream of
mine and the story is a man that is loosing his love at the sea. Then a
Mermaid appears and helps him find her. Lovelorn describes the loss of
love, all these feelings that vanishe when you stop being in love.
3. WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE SONGFROM “LOVELORN”
AND WHY?

My favourite one is "into the storm", but
every song is unique and beautiful in it’s own way.
4. DID YOU USE COMPUTERS FOR THE MIXING AND RECORDING
IN THE STUDIO? DID YOU EXPERIENCE ANY PROBLEMS?
-
We made the production to the same studios with
Atrocity. We had many equipment and actually we used 2 studios for the
production of Lovelorn. Thankfully we didn’t experience any major problems.
5. YOU ARE A FAN OF MADONNA AS YOU SAY IN YOUR
BIO. SHE IS "MASTER" INTO CHANGING THE STYLE OF MUSIC SHE IS PERFORMING.
DO YOU THINK THAT LEAVE’S EYES WILL BE A BAND THAT WILLCHANGE THE STYLE
OF MUSIC YOU ARE PERFORMING IN THE FUTURE?

(laughs), well nowadays we are playing a metal
gothic style. I reassure you that the next record of Leave’s Eyes would
be at the same style but I don’t know what will happen in the future. With
Theater of Tragedy we loved to change our style and in the last shows people
seemed to like the first albums than the new ones. I am not hanging in
the past, I like to take all the good things from the past and advance
them into something new.
6. IS THERE A CHANCE TO SING FOR THEATER OF TRAGEDY
IN THE FUTURE? WHAT ARE YOUR FUTURE PLANS WITH THE BAND AND YOUR PERSONAL
GOAL?
-
I don’t know the reason why the guys didn’t like
me in the band but Theater of Tragedy is a closed chapter for me now. I
like to go on with Leave’s Eyes and participate in many projects. I have
already made the vocals in some songs for Beto Vasques Intinity Pt. II
and I cooperated with an Italian Black metal band (Hortus Irae).
7. ARE YOU SATISFIED FROM THE CORRESPONDENCE OF
THE FANS TO YOUR ALBUMS?
-
Yes, totally satisfied and I hope they will like
Leave’s Eyes music.
8.WILL YOU GO ON TOUR WITH LEAVE’S EYES?
ARE YOU PLANNING TO PLAY HERE?
-
We are going on Tour after the Summer and I hope
we will come to play in Greece. I remember how enthousiastic were the Greek
fans of Theater OF Tragedy and I hope to see you all in the near future.
9.YOU ARE NOT A NEW ARTIST IN THE GENRE,WHAT’S
YOUR ADVICE TO THE ROOKIES, NEW MUSICANS, WHAT DO THEY HAVE BE AWARE OF?
-
First they must be ready to stand for themselves.
Music business might lead you to something that you might regret if you
are not yourself a 100%. They must not be disappointed and never let themselves
to take decisions under pressure.
10. THERE ARE SOME TALENT SHOWSON TV LIKE SUPER
IDOL, FAME STORY ETC. DO YOU THINK THAT THOSE “ENCLOSED”GUYS ADD SOMETHING
TO THE MUSIC?
-
In Norway we have Pop Idol, its funny sometimes
but I feel sorry for those guys. When they come out to the real world,
they have to go to the studio, make contracts that they might be not so
beneficially for them. Most of them, don’t know that they are products
of some people that think they will make money out of them and when their
star stops shinning they would be lost. And that’s very bad.
11. IF YOU HAD A CRYSTAL BALLAND YOU COULD SEE
THE MUSIC AND PEOPLE IN COLOURS, IMAGINE WHAT COLOURWOULD YOU CHOOSE FOR
LIV CHRISTINE?
-
I see Blue. Blue is also my favourite color (I
also painted my living room with blue and has a great picture of an ocean).
Blue is melancholic as in for the colour of the sea but also means Freedom
as it is the colour of the Sky.
12. WHICH ARE YOUR HOBBIES? DOYOU HAVE ANY SPARE
TIME?
-
I am a married woman and I have a baby, that’s
the most beautiful thing in my life. If I could have any spare time, I
would go jogging.
