Lost Fate is a new band
from Greece, a new rising force that offered a high standard debut album,
an album that reveals their abilities and raises the expectations we have
for them. So, come to a journey to a place where dreams...have no end...

THE ALBUM? HOW DO YOU FEEL NOW THAT IT IS FINISHED AND WHAT DO YOU EXPECT
FROM IT?
Lost Fate started to record their debut album
two years ago. That took so long due to some obligations that the members
had through this period. From the time that “Where dreams…” was ready,
we felt very satisfied because that was a dream that everyone wanted to
come true. We could say that from this album we expect our voice and our
music to be heard by everyone.
2.THE FIRST NAME OF THE BAND WAS GUILLOTINE AND
BEFORE RECORDING YOUR DEBUT ALBUM YOU CHANGED IT INTO LOST FATE. WHY DID
YOU DO THAT? DON'T YOU THINK THAT YOUR NAME REVEALS DARK FEELINGS AND SHOWS
DESPAIR?
The truth is that the name “Guillotine” was
just a typical name and totally out of our musical vision. On the other
hand, “Lost Fate” has something more romantic and nostalgic which is more
familiar to our music and to our lyrics. There aren’t dark feelings or
despair…
3.YOU NAMED YOUR DEBUT WORK "WHERE DREAMS... HAVE
NO END". WHY DID YOU NAME IT LIKE THIS? WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SUGGEST? WHERE'S
THIS PLACE THAT DREAMS LAST FOREVER?
Dreams are an oasis in our world of reality
and typical perfection. And as oasis is a trick of mind on the same way
dreams rise and last forever in the same place. So it’s in everyone’s hand
to maintain their dreams and finally make them come true. It’s a matter
of will…
4.SINCE YOUR LABEL SENT ME A PROMO AND I DON'T
HAVE YOUR LYRICS, CAN YOU TELL ME IN A FEW WORDS WHICH IS THE THEME OF
EACH SONG AND WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR IT?
Talking about lyrics, the person that is responsible
is Peter Panagiotou. He is writing all the lyrics… that come from his personal
life… Lyrics have to do with us, the human kind and our personal emotions,
our thoughts, our personal problems and darkest times, our mind, our relationship
with God, our hidden spiritual world and our lost loves. That’s in general
the lyrical concept of this album.
5.ARE ALL THE SONGS ON YOUR ALBUM NEW COMPOSITIONS
OR ARE SOME OF THEM FROM THE GUILLOTINE ERA?
All of our songs are new compositions and
there aren’t any ideas (musical or lyrical) from the Guillotine period.
6.THE PRODUCTION IS NOT SO GOOD AND SOMEHOW I
BELIEVE THAT IT'S UNFAIR FOR THE WHOLE RESULT. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT
IT? WHERE WAS THE ALBUM RECORDED IT?
The sound that comes out from this release
is our decision and of course our producer’s too. We are big fans of 80’s
sound (such as W.A.S.P., WHITESNAKE), you know, with lots of depth and
a live feeling in general. Somehow we think that the production fits in
our way of composing. You know we could have an ultra trigger production
but, no, it wouldn’t fit with the songs atmosphere. The production took
place in “Reflection” sound studio with Stathis Pavlandis on producer’s
chair.
7.WHICH BANDS DO YOU BELIEVE HAVE INFLUENCED YOU
AND HOW? NAME SOME OF YOUR ALL TIME FAVORITE METAL ALBUMS.
The influences of the band as you can hear
in this release are Iron Maiden, WASP, DIO, Queensryche, Conception, Pain
of Salvation. Of course there are bands we like but they are a little
bit different. These are prog rock bands such as Spock’s Beard, Transatlantic,
Rush or hard rock bands like Europe, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake…As for favorite
metal albums these could be Black Sabbath’s “HEAVEN AND HELL”, Iron Maiden’s
“SOMEWHERE IN TIME”, Wasp’s “THE CRIMSON IDOL”, Dio’s “THE LAST IN LINE”,
Conception’s "FLOW"….
8.HAVE YOU PLAYED ANY LIVE SHOWS? WHICH WAS YOUR
BEST AND WHICH THE WORST MOMENT AND WHY? ARE THE GREEK METAL FANS SUPPORTIVE
TO BANDS FROM OUR COUNTRY?
We have played several times to support bands
such as REFLECTION,SORROWFULL WINDS,VICE HUMAN…The best moment for us was
at REFLECTION’s 10th year anniversary party concert. We think it was the
ultimate live! It had it all. Good sound, great performances, big audience,
lots of energy, fun and of course pure heavy metal! As for the worst one
it was back then in the period of national elections something that caused
many difficulties on fan’s arrival in our concert at “AN” club. As result
the audience wasn’t as big as we expected.
9.THE COVER PAINTING OF YOUR ALBUM IS VERY BEAUTIFUL.
WHO IS THE CREATOR OF IT AND HOW IS IT CONNECTED TO YOUR MUSIC AND LYRICS?
Creator of the album’s cover is George Zacharoglou
(well known as DREAM WEAVER’s guitarist). We are very happy and satisfied
because George captured exactly our concept and its atmosphere and made
LOST FATE’s music and cover looks like one.
10.WHICH EMOTIONS DO YOU THINK DOMINATE OVER YOUR
MUSIC AND YOU'D LIKE TO MAINTAIN ON YOUR NEXT RELEASES AS WELL AND WHICH
DO YOU THINK LACK?
The basic emotions that rise from our music
are love (in its general form), nostalgia, romance, pain and of course
anger. These are emotions that we certaintly maintain in our next releases.
We believe that our songs include all the basic emotions but in a more
romantic way.
11.IF TIME TRAVEL WAS POSSIBLE, WHICH HISTORICAL
PERIOD WOULD YOU LIKE TO VISIT AND WHY?
We believe that if we were in the studio that
“CRIMSON IDOL” or “1987’ or “HOLY DIVER” had been recorded
it would be a dream came true. So the 80’s it would be that period!
12.ARE YOU SATISFIED BY THE FEEDBACK YOU RECEIVED
THIS FAR? WHICH DO YOU THINK IS THE MOST IDEAL WAY TO PRESENT YOUR MUSIC
IN PUBLIC?
Until now the reviews are quite good. That
make us very happy because it’s our first album and that gives us strength
to carry on. It’s very important to find people that support your thoughts
and feelings. We think the best way to present our music in public is to
play it live. We believe it’s the ultimate expression.
