MAMA KIN play poser metal and they are proud of it... So if it happens
to like SKID ROW, BON JOVI and MOTLEY CRUE but you are ashamed to admit
it... come on read this inetrview we won't tell anyone :)))). If you ask
my opinion poser really rules!!!!
1.YOU ARE A NEW BAND, ONLY A COUPLE
OF YEARS OLD...SO WHAT TITLE WOULD YOU GIVE TO YOUR TRYOUTS TILL NOW? POINT
OUT WHICH YOU THINK ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT MOMENTS OF THE BAND'S LIFE AND
INTRODUCE YOURSELVES TO THE FANS...
The most important moment would
probably be when we started the band. It wasn't what you call a serious
idea, but it ended up kicking ass and we 've had a blast since we first
started playing.
2.WHY MAMA KIN? WHAT DOES IT REPRESENT
FOR YOU? WEIRD NAME FOR A BAND DON'T YOU THINK?
We were standing in line at this
club the same night we got the idea to form the band. We were drunk and
I just came up with the idea to name ourself after a song. Mama Kin was
a good song, so.... There are alot of bands with worse band names than
us, that's for sure!
3.YOU HAVE RELEASED YOUR SECOND DEMO
"THREE IS COMPANY". GIVE US SOME GENERAL INFO ABOUT IT AND GIVE US THE
DIFFERENCES AND SIMILARITIES WITH YOUR PREVIOUS DEMO. ARE YOU SATISFIED
WITH IT? IF YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO CHANGE SOMETYHING NOW, WHAT WOULD THIS
BE?
"Three is company" is actually
our first demo. We 've just released our second demo "Partytime", which
is avilable for download at our website (http://www.mamakin.tk/).
When we recorded "Three is company" we 'd only been around for a month
or so, so that record were kind of raw and didnt have much thought behind
it. The new demo is more professional, and has much more well-written songs.
We 're still singin about screwing and partying though...
4.WHICH WERE THE REACTIONS OF THE FANS
AND PRESS THAT LISTENED TO "THREE IS COMPANY" THIS FAR? ARE YOU SATISFIED
BY THE FEEDBACK? HAS ANY LABEL CONTACTED YOU OR ARE YOU THINKING OF SENDING
THE DEMO TO ANY LABELS?
We didn't send "three is company"
to many labels, because we knew we could do better. Instead we send it
to e-zines, magazines and radios. The feedback has been great so far.
5.IMAGE IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE KIND
OF MUSIC YOU PLAY. DO YOU THINK THAT UP TO A POINT IMAGE IS MORE IMPORTANT
THAN THE COMPOSITIONS THEMSELVES?
KISS had image AND good music,
so they 've lasted. WASP on the other hand had an outrageous image and
not many good songs. Because of it, they 're not even close to being as
kick-ass as KISS. Image could get you far in the beginning but you have
to deliver good music in order to please the people. Marilyn Manson seems
to be an exception. His music suck but he 's still on top...
6.I VISITED YOUR SITE AND SAW ALL THE
BAND PICS AND WHAT IMPRESSED ME IS RIXIE WEARING A SUIT DURING THE LIVE
SHOWS!!!! I MEAN I SAW HIM IN OTHER PHOTOS AND HE HAS THE "RIGHT" APPERANCE
FOR POSER HARD ROCK, LIKE THE REST OF YOU HAVE, BUT WHY HAS HE SELECTED
TO APPEAR IN LIVE SHOWS WITH A SUIT? DO YOU THINK THAT THESE 2 DIFFERENT
STYLES COLLIDE OR NOT?
The same day we played that gig
I was going to my graduation prom. It collided with our gig but we wanted
to play real bad so we decided to make it work. I went to the prom, took
a drink, raced out in my suit to the place where we were going to perform.
The other guys were waiting at me all dressed up in suits as well so it
would look like it was the general idea. Kind of like "Dressed to kill"
with KISS. I put on make-up, took my shirt and jacket off so I wouldn?t
get all sweaty and started to play. If you look closely on the pictures
you can see that we 're all wearing suit-pants, only thing is, Rixie was
the only one of us un-sweaty enough to wear the jacket... Afterwards I
washed my self up and raced back, just in time for the dinner.
7.HMM...I DON'T THINK WE HAVE TO SAY
MUCH ABOUT THE LYRICS AND THEIR MAIN TOPIC :)) BY THE WAY AREN'T YOU AFRAID
THAT SOME GIRLS MIGHT BE OFFENDED OR ANNOYED BY YOUR LYRICS? WHAT WOULD
YOU ANSWER TO SOMEONE THAT CAME AND TOLD YOU THAT YOU ARE A SEXIST?
They 're all full of shit! We 've
never said anything about girls that is degrading. Alot of people call
us sexists, but I mean....why? We like having fun! Why can't we sing about
that? We never call girls whores or bitches. We love girls, we like to
party and we sing about it. That's it.
8.DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS FOR LIVE SHOWS?
WHAT DO YOU REMEMER FROM THE LIVE SHOWS YOU HAVE PARTICIPATED? ANY WEIRD
OR FUNNY INCIDENTS OCCURRING TO YOU WHILST PLAYING LIVE?
As soon as we get the new demo
out, they 're gonna be available in 500 copies, we are going to plan some
touring. Where we don't know, we need money, and we have to send out some
records first. Everytime we play there's always partying going on, so I
'd have to say that there's always something weird & funny going on.
9.THE KIND OF MUSIC YOU PLAY AND YOUR
GENERAL IMAGE IS CLOSE TO THE 80S HARD ROCK BANDS. DO YOU THINK THAT THERE
STILL ARE FANS INTERESTED IN THAT KIND OF MUSIC OR DO YOU BELIEVE THINGS
ARE NOW MORE DIFFICULT FOR YOU?
Of course! It never died, people
just lost their faith in rock for a short period of time. All the 80's
bands are doing reunion tours in the states and KISS has always been huge.
You can almost ask anyone and they 'll tell you they like guns n roses
"appetite for destruction" etc. The problem is, Axl can't sing anymore,
and all the other bands are either too old or has lost their passion. They
just can't write good music anymore, their trying to innovate their sound
and it sucks.We 're doing it like people love it - the way it was.
10.IF YOU HAD A PROPOSAL TO DO A VIDEOCLIP,
WHICH SONG OF YOURS WOULD YOU CHOOSE AND HOW DO YOU IMAGINE IT TO BE?
It would probably be "partytime"
from our new demo, because it describes what we 're all about. I can't
speak for the other guys, but I 'd like a huge stage, lights, audience
and that sort of stuff. The live-part of us is very important.
11.WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE THAT
DOESN'T KNOW YOU IN ORDER TO INTRIGUE HIS INTEREST? WHICH IS, ACCORDING
TO YOU, YOUR MOST RECOGNIZABLE AND CATCHY ELEMENTS?
I 'd probably say that the right
time is now. We 're young, hungry and we 're writing kick-ass music. Most
importantly, we 're for real. We 're not trying to copy any other band.
We 're just inspired by rock from the 80's.
12.IF WE ARE ALL JUST A WORD IN THE
GREAT BOOK OF CREATION, CAN YOU SAY WHICH WORD COULD DESCRIBE YOU BETTER?
CAN YOU ALSO IMAGINE WHAT KIND OF AUTHOR WOULD BE THE CREATOR OF THIS BOOK
AND WHY?

13.DO YOU THINK THAT PERHAPS GOD GOT
SO FRIGHTNED FROM WHAT HE CREATED THAT HE MOVED TO HEAVEN IN ORDER TO KEEP
DISTANCE FROM HIS CREATIONS? :))
14.LET'S SUPPOSE THAT WE LIVE IN A
WORLD WITHOUT MUSIC. WHAT WOULD YOU DO IN SUCH A CASE?
I don't know, something else I
suppose.
15.IF YOU WERE A FLY, WHERE WOULD YOU
LIKE TO BE AND WHY?
Where it's warm. Everything is
better when it's warm.
16.IF YOUR MUSIC WERE AN EMOTION, WHAT
WOULD IT BE? IF IT WERE A PAINTING, WHAT WOULD IT SHOW?
I couldn't name just one. Probably
"Horny", "Happy" or something like that. But it would only be positive
stuff. The painting would probably be a huge party.
