ELEVEN
Station Eleven is a new band
coming from Greece with an intention to move and shake the "living dead"
Greek metal scene as they so elloqunetly mention in the interview below.
Their mixture of old heavy and thrash elements along with new metal touches,
promises an interesting result. What do you think?
1.FIRST OF ALL GIVE US A SHORT
BAND BIO AND INTRODUCE YOURSELVES TO THE READERS...
Station Eleven formed back at fall
of 2002...the first line up was panayotis trikalitis (vocals),helias trikalitis
(drums) ,argyris vasiliou (bass) and panayotis diamantopoulos (guitars)...their
music was a mix of prog power/death and thrash metal of the american school...in
spring of 2003 the band had decided to change its music direction to something
more nu metal and hardcore but with the same old influences inside...after
this harris tsoukalas joins s11 as the second guitarist of the band and
the band performed live for first time to the athenian audience at rodeo
club (march 2003) with a lot of success...then diamantopoulos leaves the
band and its position taken by lefteris perdikouris...we are on summer
2003 the band has its final line up and rehearsaling for the first studio
cd wich gonna be out somewhere in early 2004...Nowadays we are in the studio
, recording our first 2-track promo cd.
2.WHY DID YOU NAME THE BAND STATION
ELEVEN? WHAT'S THIS STATION ALL ABOUT AND WHAT DOES IT REPRESENT
TO YOU?
It's a concept, a little imaginary
story from me (Panayotis) about the eleventh station of this millenium...you
will be able to find out more about this in the future (maybe in a s/t
track).
3.YOU ARE A NEW BAND, HOWEVER, YOU
HAVE ALREADY MADE A CHANGE OF YOUR MUSICAL DIRECTION. WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE
SOMETHING LIKE THAT? DO YOU THINK THAT YOUR PREVIOUS MUSICAL ENDEAVORS
DIDN'T SATISFY YOU AND REPRESENT YOU 100%? NAME SOME OF THE BAND'S INFLUENCES?
We just think that the music that
represend us now better is the new metal and hardcore...we still listen
to the old metal stuff and the old influences will always remain in the
songs....some influences??? hmmm First of all Metallica ,korn,nevermore,death,the
swedish death metal scene,soad,slipknot,hatebreed and more...
4.YOU WILL SOON ENTER THE STUDIO IN
ORDER TO RECORD YOUR FIRST DEMO. CAN YOU GIVE US SOME GENERAL INFO
ABOUT IT AND TOWARDS WHICH MUSICAL
DIRECTION YOU ARE WILLING TO MOVE? ARE YOU PLANNING TO SPREAD THIS DEMO

be spread to labels,magazines and some radio stations...also we will upload
it to the net so anyone could download it (including artwork)...ur zine
will be the first to get the links to that :)
5.WHERE ARE YOUR LYRICS REFERRING TO
AND HOW IMPORTANT ARE THEY FOR YOU? WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO WRITE LYRICS
AND WHAT CAN TAKE THE INSPIRATION AWAY FROM YOU?
Lyrics reffer to life,society and
mostly to psychological problems,to this insane youth... inspiration...?
...life...unfortunately we all pass through all that shit every fuckin
day...
6.HOW IMPORTANT IS IMAGE, PHILOSOPHY
AND IDEOLOGY BEHIND A BAND? WHICH IS THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND STATION ELEVEN?
WHAT DO YOU REALLY WANT TO ACHIEVE WITH THIS BAND?
Image is important for the band,only
for our philosophy...all other movements are just for making money and
get ur band more popular...we are against this we are true and clean,we
will play first for ourselves and then for anyone else...but I promise...u
will like our shit...our dream as a band is to break the borders of the
"living dead" Greek scene....sad but true...
7.DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS FOR LIVE SHOWS?
WHAT SHOULD THE METALLERS EXPECT FROM A STATION ELEVEN LIVE
SHOW?
Yeap,we will perform live in the
next 2-3 months in kalamata,athens,patra etc for more info check out our
website....as for the last question...prepare for something really heavy
and prepare to break your necks from the headbanging hehehe....

Band,something really true,something really hatefull,something full of
