1.HELLO DIMO! HOW ARE YOU? FIRST
OF ALL, I WANT YOU TO GIVE US A SHORT STORY OF SVARROGH. IS IT REALLY AN
ONE MAN'S BAND?

Hi!!! Thanx, I am fine! First of all,
thanx for your interest for Svarrogh! Yes, Svarrogh is my solo-project.
It was founded in the summer of 2001. Because I play in different bands,
where you always have to make compromises or limit your creativities, it
was the best idea to create a solo-project, where I could define only my
own ideas! I know it sounds a bit egocentric, sorry! I have recorded
5 very bad rehearsal Demos, the current Album Baxas Xebesheth 1883 is the
Debut.
2.AS I READ IN THE BIO, THE BAND'S
NAME HAS AN INTERESTING STORY. CAN YOU TELL IT SO THAT THE
READERS WILL KNOW AS WELL? WHICH
REASONGS LED YOU CHOOSE THIS NAME?

Svarrogh is actually the ancient Slavian
God of all Fires and the Sun! I have chosen the name to show my slavian
roots.
3.YOUR MUSIC IS PAGAN/BLACK WITH SOME
ELEMENTS FROM YOUR COUNTRY'S TRADITIONAL MUSIC. WHICH BANDS HAVE INFLUENCED
YOU? IS IT POSSIBLE TO ADD MORE FOLK ELEMENTS IN YOUR MUSIC? I'D REALLY
LOVE THAT!

Oh, I try to stay away from any influences,
but its unfortunately impossible to stay un-influenced. Well of course
I WAS influenced by the Norwegian Black Metal and Ami Death, I also listen
to slavian folk music. I was also a bit influenced from some impressionistical
componists like Debussy. Yes, the next Album "Lady Vitosha" will have more
folk parts than metal parts!
4.YOU ALSO USE YOUR NATIVE LANGUAGE,
SO IT'S
DIFFICULT FOR ME TO UNDERSTAND.
CAN YOU TELL FOR EACH SONG, WHAT IT'S TALKING ABOUT? IS "BAXAS..." A CONCEPT
ALBUM AND WHAT DOES THE TITLE MEAN?

Oh, very difficult question. Well every
song in "Baxas…" is different. There are dark-folk-obscure lyrics written
in the style of traditional folklore stories. There are also topics about
Love (Love is walking over the bulgarian fields, men try to walk with her
and die!), Grimness and pagan topics from slavian mythology. "Baxas Xebesheth"
means nothing. It has the same meaning for me as "Blashyrkh" for
Immortal. 1883 is an important year in bulgarian histroy-the first moments
of bulgarian republic after 500 war with Turkia. It also tries to describe
the time in which the lyrics are written (old, rustical, dialect…)
5.YOU ALSO PLAY IN 2 OTHER BANDS. CAN
YOU NAME THEM? HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO FIND TIME FOR SVARROGH AS WELL? IS
SVARROGH MORE OF A FUN PROJECT OR DO YOU SEE THE WHOLE THING PROFESSIONALLY?

I am the drummer of Hatred Divine,
a very professional band from germany (for more info please visit www.hatreddivine.de).
And I also play in Viszeral, we try to create primitive old school Black
Metal, the mastermind behind this project is My compagnon [email protected].
With him I founded our new band "Argus" which plays a new form of old school
black metal. Yes its very difficult, because before I was at school and
so I failed there of having no time for learning, and now I try to work,
to spent money and to play in 4 Bands, which are completely equal in my
eyes. No fucking Fun!!! Svarrogh is the mirror of my deepest realms! Its
professional as possible!
6.HOW DID YOU COLLABORATE WITH ATLANTIDA?
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF RAVENCLAW, THE OTHER BAND THAT PARTICIPATES IN THIS
SPLIT CD?

I have taken part on their Compilation
before, so Ruslanas from Atlantida asked me to release a Split with his
own project Ravenclaw and I agreed because Ruslanas makes a lot of promotion
and has many many contacts worldwide! Ravenclaw have a very individual
sound, I like it. Alex from the austrian band Hrossharsgrani is also playing
in it. But I think this project is still very underground, its too good
to be "only" underground. I don't like the many samples on each Album.

7.HOW DID THE FANS AND PRESS RECEIVE
YOUR ALBUM TILL NOW? WHICH REVIEW YOU READ IRRITATED YOU THE MOST? DID
YOU HAVE ANY PROPOSALS FROM LABELS?

Well there are different meanings,
some like it, some not, but the most think of it in the middle! Everyone
says that there have to be more folk parts! There is no review which has
irritated me, I think everyone is a little bit right. But somebody wrote:
There is nothing new in the sound, the riffs are all together old, already
well-known riffs. I think I don't care about if something is new or not!
Riffs are like colours. In every painting are the same colours, but in
a different way. Do you agree?
8.WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE CLASSIC HEAVY
METAL BAND AND WHICH SONG OF THEIRS WOULD YOU LIKE TO COVER AND WHY?

Oh, there are soooo many!

9.HOW IMPORTANT IS IMAGE, PHILOSOPHY
AND IDEOLOGY BEHIND A BAND? WHICH IS THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND SVARROGH?

Its not important for a rock/pop/jazz
band (besides: I love jazz!). If you sing about difficult topics
you have to be believable, you need an image. When you talk shit like lyrics
about Satan or dark Gothic-gay lyrics you also must have an image! But
then it look silly! The philosophy behind me is not to be influenced from
this thousands of ideologies, philosophies and images outside there! I
also spread Bulgarian traditional philosphy and habits.
10.DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS FOR LIVE SHOWS?

TAKE MUSICIANS AS PERMANENT BAND
MEMBERS?

Yes, the first live gig with session
musicians is planned for February 2004 with Burden of Grief and Equilibrium.
Oh, no members! Svarrogh is the only one opportunity to create something
myself without foreign ideas! I play in three other bands, where I can
make compromises with other musicians, but please not Svarrogh. ;-)
11.WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE THAT
DOESN'T KNOW YOU, IN ORDER TO INTRIGUE HIS INTEREST? WHICH IS YOUR MOST
APPEALING ELEMENT ACCORDING TO YOU?

I am very friendly, funnny & silly
in order to hide my wretchedness, sorrow and grimness. I hate myself for
this stupid attitude.
12.IF YOUR MUSIC WERE AN EMOTION, WHAT
WOULD IT BE?

1. It would be love&hate, resignation,
homeland-pride!

with a an open window. Outside a snowfall. Inside the room just withering
flowers and some slavian Pipes on the walls.

Haha, yes this is planned, too, but
it will take a LOT of time. It will be a new song of the new Album. The
track is called, "The Taverne of the Dead Lord". You see a old taverne
and very tired men, a clock ticking, its very warm and sticky, swamps outside
and cries in the night, there many different nervous people outside, you
see a grim Lord who is bleeding and after all he is dead! Muahahaha….
14.IF WE ARE ALL JUST A WORD IN THE
GREAT BOOK OF CREATION, CAN YOU SAY WHICH WORD COULD DESCRIBE YOU BETTER?

have to beat every day. But: yes! ;-))
