T3chn0Ph0B1a
T3cn0ph0b1a is, I think, a pretty original band with a sound that will stick to your brain for a long, long time! They have the kind of compositions and clever titles that you can't forget! Their music could be descirbed as industrial- space- black metal... and to answer Snuff238 here... "No, I don't mean the ordinary black metal acts and their philosophy, image, ideology... Black metal has many faces, one of which applies to you...". So, I'd advice you to read this interview cause it's really thought-provoking and fun to read!

1.CONGRATULATIONS FOR "ALBEDO LEVEL :0%"!
SNUFF 238: Thanx, I'm glad you liked our work...it's just the beginning of our musical creations...

5K0TT: Thanks to your website for the positive review of our promo-cd!

2.FIRST OF ALL, POINT OUT THE MOST IMPORTANT MOMENTS OF THE BANDS HISTORY AND INTRODUCE YOURSELVES TO THE READERS.
SNUFF 238: We created the band during the Halloween night, in 2003, we planned this project from a very long time, and we realized it when someone asked us to play a gig: in two weeks we have prepared ten covers of bands like The Kovenant, Ramms+ein, Pain, Rob Zombie and Gothminister then we played live. It was really funny 'cause we were yet without bassplayer and we created our look the day before the gig. After the concert, we started to work on our own material, giving birth to the five tracks that you can listen on our cd. Lately we recruited a new member, DusTech, on synthetizers (the synths on cd were played by 5k0tt).
3.WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO OUR READERS, IF I ASKED YOU TO PRESENT THE ALBUM OURSELVES? WHICH WORDS WOULD YOU USE?
    SNUFF 238: Powerful, dancefl-horror, futuristic & toxic.

5K0TT: Spacial themes married with an hammering sound.

4.GIVE US SOME INFO REGARDING THE RECORDING SESSIONS. THE PRODUCTION IS GOOD! ARE YOU SATISFIED BY THE FINAL RESULT OR IS THERE ANYTHING YOU 'D LIKE TO CHANGE?
SNUFF 238: This record is autoproduced, so we tried to get the best result we could have with our budget. Personally I'm satisfied, even if there's some screams in my vocal lines not as I wanted, problems due to my illness and to the sore throat I got during the recordings. Better luck next time!

5K0TT: I'm satisfied too, but there're some sounds I would change if I had the way to re-record the entire songs; for example, I don't like the guitar mixing in the song "F.I.A.T. [Finding Improved Alien Technology]". The new material is more electro-based, with different solutions related to the synthetizer's parts. But we tried to get a more 'live' sound on this promo-cd.

5.YOU HAVE MANAGED TO CREATE AN ORIGINAL AND SPECIAL SOUND, HOW DID YOU ACHIEVE THIS TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THAT IT'S HARD TO HAVE A UNIQUE SOUND NOWADAYS?
SNUFF 238: We don't pretend to create a new kind of music, it's impossible to do it. But we defined our sound 'Industrial Space Metal': 'industrial' because of our way to play, 'space' because of our main themes (the word was inspired by the old French electroband Rockets, that played an original 'Space Rock') and 'metal' in spite of our musical roots, that unavoidably marked our attitude. Hey, a long time ago I was a 'defender of the faith'! Ahahahah! ...strange past... I would like to change our genre's name in 'Industrial Dancefl-horror' (a mix between 'dancefloor' and 'horror'), but I think it's more difficult to understand.

5K0TT: I agree with Snuff's definition: I don't want to create a new wave of musical direction, but just play what I enjoy for real. But I wanna also tribute my music (I am the musical mind behind T3chn0ph0b1a) to Nagash's work. For this we play in our live setlists some covers from The Kovenant, "Animatronic" is one of the best ever albums!

SNUFF 238: That's it! Truly a masterpiece! "New world order-la-la-la-la!". And, related to our musical tastes, don't forget that Von Cyberskin is a deathster/ blackster, Ahri Hann a 80's thrasher, RadikAl 9k a listener of 70's Rock and DusTech a disco-music addicted!

6.COULD YOU POINT OUT SOME OF YOUR MOST BELOVED BANDS AND ALBUMS? WHICH ARE THE MUSICIANS THAT "CARVED" YOUR MUSICAL IDENTITY?
SNUFF 238: I got a real open taste for music but I think the most influencing bands to T3chn0ph0b1a are The Kovenant & Ramms+ein. My beloved bands are too many, impossible to list but I will say names like AC/DC, Type O Negative, Cradle of Filth, The Sisters of Mercy, Venom, Sodom, Motorhead, Misfits, Ramones, Deathstars, Aborym, Ozzy Osbourne, all the Ebm scene (Hocico, Apoptygma Berzerk & Suicide Commando over all), some Goth'n'Roll bands, and, obviously, Rockets and Duran Duran. My musical idols are Dani Filth, Peter Steele, Ozzy Osbourne & Joey Ramone, I don't know if they really influenced my music but I love them! Maybe the only one that remotely 'carved' my vocal style is the singer from Cradle of Filth, because some years ago I sang in a C.O.F. Tribute Band, but in T3chn0ph0b1a I decided not to imitate his amazing style and to create my own way to sing....uhm....to scream!

5K0TT: I grew up with Iron Maiden's tunes and I was formerly a bassplayer, so the musicians that 'carved' my musical identity were surely Steve Harris and Billy Sheehan; I followed the Italian Power Prog Metal scene too. Now I listen mainly electronic stuff, as Ebm or Future Pop, and a lot of Industrial. I love, of course, Ramms+ein, The Kovenant, Terminal Choice, Ram-Zet and other similar acts.

7.YOU HAVE A FUTURISTIC IMAGE THAT PRESENTS A PSYCHO AND DECADANCED FUTURE. WHY? ARE YOU PESSIMISTS OR DO YOU THINK THAT WHERE HUMANITY HEADS IS AN INEVITABLE DESTINATION?
SNUFF 238: I support the mankind decadence, the triumph of beton that will drown the humanity that seems devoted to die by his own hands. So my lyrics and my concepts couldn't have a positive view of future. The end is near and it's slowly showing in every human action.
8.BY THE WAY HOW IMPORTANT IS IMAGE FOR YOU? DOES EACH OF YOU HAS AN ATTITUDE AND OUTFIT THAT STANDS FOR SOMETHING IN SPECIFIC?
SNUFF 238: In my opinion the look is fundamental for a band. The visual element has a very high percentage of importance. Just think about Ramms+ein or Kiss: their aspect increased their success and fame.

5K0TT: I couldn't imagine playing in T3chn0ph0b1a without make-up! When I play I am not me anymore but my alter-ego and it's very exciting. Every member hasn't got a particular role, but Snuff created the concept in which we are six cyborg aliens Sidera based, a sombre planet with a sunproof and photophobic atmosphere, descended on Earth to spread our sonorous disease.

9.WHERE ARE YOUR LYRICS REFERRING TO? HOW IMPORTANT ARE THEY FOR YOU? CAN YOU TELL US A FEW THINGS ABOUT EACH SONG?
SNUFF 238: In my lyrics I try to mix some elements as urban squalor of industrial sceneries, horror & sci-fi movies references, cyber futuristic nightmares and a lot of irony. The first song, "Aliena Ferox [Format Race*.*]", is the cosmic transposition of the well-known Italian cannibal movie "Cannibal Ferox", a violent splatter gore cult made by Umberto Lenzi, and on our site I defined this song as 'An alien invasion in 80-ish cannibal movie style: they have received our messages casted into space in search of other forms of life and they're determined to annihilate our feeble and foolish existence; they won't control our minds, they'll just destroy them, in the most splatter way.' The second one, "F.I.A.T. [Finding Improved Alien Technology]" is 'The supreme hymn of urbanization and mechanization of the sacred soil of Avgvsta Tavrinorvm: the future looks grey, under the mark of progress, under the influence of foreign experiments, under the power of creaking industries. That's what created the 'urban feedblack', the obscure background noise, now ruler of our rusty brains in the motor-works princedom.'. As you know, FIAT is also the motor-works industry of Turin, our city, and its real meaning is something like "Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torinese". I gave the explanation for "Wrapped In Eternit" as 'How do you feel to be wrapped in eternit? How do you feel to be buried in an amianthus coffin waiting for death, looking at your own body reaching the lowest degrees of tumoral and cancerous decadence? You cannot die but you cannot save yourself. That's it.'. Some people think that the word 'eternit' is an error in place of 'eternity', but it's not so. Eternit is an element employed in some buildings roofs that is no more legal in spite of his toxic nature. I liked the idea of something unhealty. Finally, "H.T.M.L. [Heavenly Territories Might Lie]" is 'A twofold deceit of a cybergod, unveiled during a night lit up by the screenlight. The net-field seem harmless, the religious weapons seem innocuous, but they hide something: they're the perversion's lair, they're the intimate landscape in which the deviation feasts. All kind of fetishes, all kind of iniquities, find her own fertile ground. They seem the cradle of virtue but they are nothing but sepulchres of vice. Maybe. That's only ironical stuff.'(I gave these song explanations in the lyrics section, on our site.) I think lyrics are very important in a song, they must exciting curiosity into the listener's mind.
10.THE TRACK TITLES ARE VERY IMAGINATIVE AND MAINLY DEAL WITH TECHNOLOGY. YOU MUST SPEND QUITE SOME TIME TRYING TO "CREATE" THEM. CAN YOU TELL US HOW EACH TITLE CAME OUT?
SNUFF 238: No, I don't spend any time to imagine the titles...it's simple, I think about some initials and I complete the title...it takes ten seconds, it's easy to find some sentences or stuff related to technology, computers or aliens. As a preview I can say to your webzine that two of our new songs, not yet recorded, are exactly titled with acrostics. They are "N.A.S.A. [Not Antropomorph Space Assassin]" and "I.N.R.I. [In Necro Reality Interactive]". Anyway, thanks for the 'very imaginative'.
11.WHICH IS, ACCORDING TO YOU THE BEST AND WHICH THE WORST PART IN YOUR MUSIC? WHICH DO YOU THINK IS YOUR TRADEMARK?
SNUFF 238: Surely the worst part in our music is the linearity, but it's also the best. You remember our songs by the first hearing. But, folks, remember that we're flawless...eheheheh
12.HAVE YOU SENT THE PROMO CD TO ANY LABELS? WHAT KIND OF FEEDBACK DID YOU RECEIVE THIS FAR FROM LABELS, FANS AND REVIEWERS? ARE YOU SATISFIED?
5K0TT: We are actually sending our promo-cd to labels but we haven't yet decided what to do. I was impressed by the good answer of audience, we've already got some "fans" from Italy and all around Europe.

SNUFF 238: Labels? I don't deal with those earthly organisations...I wanna take off with my flying shuttle returning back to Sidera...I'm disgusted with mankind... even if some fellows like our music...I'm afraid to get in contact with humans...eheheheh...

13.WHAT REVIEW MANAGED TO PRESENT YOUR MUSIC THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY AND WHAT WAS THE WORST? PLEASE MENTION THE SPECIFIC PHRASES THEY USED. WHAT STATEMENT WAS THE MOST FLATTERING FOR YOU?
SNUFF 238: I don't like to judge who judges me...you can find EVERY review on our site...positive or negative. I'm glad that we haven't yet received bad criticism but only, in the worst way, intelligent suggestions. Only one little reproach to your fantastic review: you defined us 'Industrial Black Metal'...I don't like it... I got a strong cult for primordial Black Metal as Venom, HellHammer, Celtic Frost, the first Sodom album, and Mayhem...but I don't deal with the misanthropic- frozen-pandafacepainted- closeminded- stereotyped Black Metal people. But if you meant 'Industrial Black Metal' as the Italian band Aborym's music you're welcome.
14.IF YOUR MUSIC WERE AN EMOTION, WHAT WOULD IT BE? IF IT WERE A PAINTING, WHAT WOULD IT SHOW?
SNUFF 238: The same emotion Filippo Tommaso Marinetti felt when he wrote the Futurism Manifesto: the search for new things destroying the past, running like hell towards the progress, the fastest flux of technology; the same scientific delirium of Baron Victor Von Frankenstein in the manipulation of natural laws while he was bringing to life his creature. About the painting, I have in mind the Kirchner's "Selfportrait as a soldier", but with some kind of cyber implants and medical tubes on his face.
15.WHICH ARE YOUR FUTURE PLANS? WILL YOU PERFORM LIVE? HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE A TYPICAL T3CHN0PH0B1A LIVE SHOW?
SNUFF 238: We are scheduling concerts after this summer and we are actually working on songs, visual effects, look and scenographic show, we can't reveal our plans yet but we assure you that our performances will be shocking, funny and totally out of mortal immagination. You'll taste how the Sidera's forms of life have their way!

5K0TT: Ahahahah sure! We are planning some curious and strange stuff to kick asses in our first live shows!

16.IF TIME TRAVEL WAS POSSIBLE, WHICH PERIOD WOULD YOU LIKE TO VISIT AND WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE?
SNUFF 238: I'd surely come back to late 1800 in France, having the chance to meet Charles Baudelaire, my literature idol, and asking him questions about his poetry. He's my brother in pain of existence.

5K0TT: I won't travel to the past ages but I would like to return back to 3001, I wanna go home!

17.YOU ARE GRANTED ONE WISH. WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH IT?
SNUFF 238: The resurrection of Joey Ramone or to play one gig together with Cradle of Filth or just to spend a couple of hours arguing with the horror director Dario Argento, maybe to do the soundtrack for one of his amazing movies. But my real dream/wish is to become a literature professor.

5K0TT: I would like to live for music, spending every day exclusively playing and living in R'n'R lifestyle.

18.THANK YOU! HAVE I FORGOTTEN TO ASK YOU ANYTHING AND YOU'D LIKE TO MENTION? LEAVE YOUR MESSAGE...
SNUFF 238: Support us and you'll gain a warmer place in the InFernet lands! Anyway, thanks for these stimulating and original questions.

5K0TT: Thanks for the interview and prepare yourselves to the mech-paranoia!
