TRANSCENDING
BIZARRE ?
Here it is one of the
most strange bands I have ever heard till now from Greece. Inspired by
bands like KONVENANT and ARCTURUS, T. B.? have taken their music a step
farther. The guitaris !-? or most known by the huamn name Haris really
gave us some interested and rather bizarre answers. Are you ready to accept
the bizarre in your life?
1.FIRST OF ALL LET'S START FROM
THE BASICS AND TELL ME THE BAND'S STORY TILL NOW IN A FEW WORDS AND PRESENT
THE CURRENT LINE UP.

We released 2 promo cds till now and
finally signed with Sleaszy rider and our full-length cd was true. Line
up: !-?: guitars ,dim guitars ,peter drums ,kotzak vox ,S.A. Akis samples
& programming.
2.HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO CREATE SUCH
A "BIZARRE" MUSIC AND HOW CAN YOU DESCRIBE IT? NO DOUBT YOU ARE NOT THE
TYPICAL BLACK METAL BAND!

I think if you compose great music
you need to have intelligence, inspiration and the capacity to exploit
everything you live and feel. It needs a higher nature if you understand.
And I tried to do all these things I mentioned without being a copycat,
I hate creating something that is similar to any other. Our purpose was
to create bizarre music.
3.YOU ALSO USE STRANGE NICKNAMES. HOW
DID YOU CHOOSE THEM AND WHAT DO THEY MEAN? DO YOU THINK THAT THE USE OF
SUCH NICKNAMES INTENSIFIES THE THEATRICAL ELEMENT WHICH IS SO OBVIOUS IN
YOUR MUSIC?

I don`t know about the nicknames of
the others. My nickname is !-?: because I want in my life to be a
no name guy. I am not as social as I could be. If you noticed I wear also
a mask on my face.
4.AS I SAID ABOVE YOUR MUSIC HAS AN
INTENSE THEATRICAL ESSENCE. IF YOU HAD THE MONEY TO DO A LIVE SHOW THE
WAY YOU WANTED IT TO BE, HOW DO YOU IMAGINE IT? I AM REALLY INTERESTED
TO KNOW...

Mmmm...I could say that the perfect
live show would include: corpsepainting, dark feeling, some acrobats and
dancers on the scene. a huge cinema projector with scenes from bizarre
movies behind us and many others that never could happen!
5.WHICH BANDS HAVE INFLUENCED YOUR
MUSICAL STYLE AND ATTITUDE? IN SOME PARTS YOUR MUSIC BROUGHT TO MY MIND
THE PROG/THRASHERS TOURNIQUET. ARE YOU AWARE OF THEM?

No I am not aware of Tourniquet, but
I guess I will. The artists that influenced our music I guess are Bjork
(really dark person, more than the 90% of the blackmetallers),The Kovenant,
M.Hatzidakis, Igor Stravinski, Radiohead, The Gathering, Preisner, Dreadful
Shadows...
6.THE FEMALE SINGER THAT YOU HAVE HAS
A GREAT VOICE! WHO IS SHE AND WHAT KIND OF STUDIES HAS SHE DONE? IS SHE
A "STABLE" BAND MEMBER?

She was paid to do the recordings.
Nothing else about her, no stable member.
7.TELL ME A FEW THINGS REGARDING THE
LYRICS. WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEM? WHAT KIND OF THINGS DO YOU LIKE TO
"HURT" THROUGH THEM?

In our lyrics we handle subjects that
make our life not to be something that we did not explore. By searching
these parameters of life and cosmos we try not to explain it the way it
was taught to us, by denying everything that is not a result of a hard
quest for the universe. Some of our lyrics talk about warmholes, speed
of light, the explaining of nature through numbers, maths, the case that
we are all roles in an alien kid's game in its extra modern pc. But I
think that no one could understand anything from our lyrics, so we just
put some subjects to ignite a further personal request.
8.HOW DID THE FANS AND PRESS AND ESPECIALLY
THE PRESS FROM ABROAD RECEIVE YOUR ALBUM?

The reviews for our album are from
good to excellent. Something that annoys me are reviews. I think that is
wrong for someone to judge my music but unfortunately this just has to
happen. But it is ridiculous when the person that writes the review gives
advices to artists.
9.HOW DID THIS COLLABORATION WITH SLEASZY
RIDER OCCUR? ARE YOU STILL SATISFIED WITH THEM? DID YOU HAVE ANY PROPOSALS
FROM OTHER LABELS?

Tolis liked our music and that was
it. Till now I am satisfied with Sleaszy.Tolis does many things to promote
his bands. The bad thing is that he is new in such business, so is the
label and they don’t have as many connections we would like. But Sleaszy
now opens its wings...
10.HAVE YOU EVER DREAMED OF A MELODY
AND WHEN YOU WOKE UP SUDDENLY YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN IT? IF YES, HOW DID YOU
FEEL?

Yes it happened! But the thing happens
to me more often is to think of a melody during the day and finally forget
it when I get the guitar on my hands. Awful feeling!! Maybe it’s irrelevant
but I prefer a good melody from a good...fuck!!?
11.HOW IMPORTANT IS IMAGE, PHILOSOPHY
AND IDEOLOGY BEHIND A BAND? WHICH IS THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND TRANSCENDING
BIZARRE? AND WHAT IS THIS QUESTION MARK AT YOUR MONIKER? WHAT DOES IT WANT
TO SUGGEST?

I think that philosophy and art go
together. All great artists were thoughtful people with ideology and the
examples are too much. I already mentioned that to create original art
needs a higher nature(what Socrates used to call ''daimonion'') that helps
the artist to distinguish from the mass and the animals. As a result of
this higher nature, the artist puts himself questions about the barriers
that surround him, his insignificant life, the mystery of the universe
etc etc. Only if you are a tiny part of the maze you are not worried about
all these questions and you take things the way others explain it to you.
And a true artist is not a part of the maze. My philosophy in my life is
this: to search MY truth and don’t give a damn for the watery creatures
that surround us.
12.WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE THAT
DOESN'T KNOW YOU, IN ORDER TO INTRIGUE HIS INTEREST? WHICH IS YOUR MOST
APPEALING ELEMENT ACCORDING TO YOU?

I would say nothing to him, unfortunately.
The most interesting element of T.B.? I think is that our music is something
really new and bizarre.
13.IF YOUR MUSIC WERE AN EMOTION, WHAT
WOULD IT BE? IF IT WERE A PAINTING, WHAT WOULD IT SHOW?

It would be the emotion of hatred.
But hatred not because we have to seem evil persons. but because we realised
the shit that surrounds us. If it was a painting I would think it as a
huge white painting with a big question mark!
14.IF YOU HAD A PROPOSAL TO DO A VIDEOCLIP,
WHICH SONG OF YOURS WOULD YOU CHOOSE AND HOW DO YOU IMAGINE IT TO BE?

GREAT BOOK OF CREATION, CAN YOU SAY WHICH WORD COULD DESCRIBE YOU BETTER?
CAN YOU ALSO IMAGINE WHAT KIND OF AUTHOR WOULD BE THE CREATOR OF THIS BOOK
AND WHY?

If such a book exists I think we would
not worth not even a word. We could be a void between words, though. Maybe
the creator of the creation's book is an alien that likes jokes or experiments
or a ...god. The question now is what we mean by saying god, a computer
system, a number, an asteroid, the future human that returned in the past
to guide us? Maybe nothing?
16.DO YOU THINK THAT PERHAPS GOD GOT
SO FRIGHTENED OF WHAT HE CREATED THAT HE MOVED TO HEAVEN IN ORDER TO KEEP
DISTANCE FROM HIS CREATIONS? :))

Following what I 've just said about
the unknown nature of god, it seems childish to think god as a human that
felt or acted in any human way.

in 1912, when Titanic sailed and scream really loud "I'm the king of the
world''!!!
