Well the words here are useless, just read the interview and listen to WAYD's music and then you will have a complete view of what they try to do.How can I describe WAYD's music with few words? Simply it is impossible and a big stupidity by my side...

1. FIRST OF ALL POINT OUT THE MOST IMPORTANT MOMENTS OF THE BAND’S HISTORY AND INTRODUCE YOURSELVES TO THE READERS…
  • Wayd started in 1994 playing with the following line-up:Richard (quitar), Milan (quitar,vocals), Brano (drums), Drahos (bassquitar,vocals). This line-up recorded all the stuff throughont the years: Shape of your mind (demo 1995), The Ultimate passion (CD 1997), Barriers (CD 2001) and the latest release- Decadance (CD 2003).Meanwhile, our drummer left the band and went to live in London, but he´s coming back to join WAYD in spring 2004. Now we have host drummer called Mistik and he´s doing good job for us.
2. WHY DID YOU NAME THE BAND WAYD AND WHAT DOES IT MEAN? IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WANT TO SUGGEST? HOW IMPORTANT IS THE BAND NAME FOR YOU?
  • For us it is just the name for four people doing the music they like. It can also mean What Are You Doing or anything else you can imagine. We like it & we don´t want to change it. WAYD is symbol for our musical style.
3. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR MUSICAL STYLE? NAME SOME OF YOUR MOST BELOVED BANDS AND ALBUMS. YOU PLAY A WEIRD AND UNIQUE MIXTURE OF DEATH AND JAZZ AND HARD ROCK AND THRASH AND…AND… SO? WHAT DO YOU THINK REPRESENTS YOU THE MOST AND HOW DIFFICULT IS IT FOR YOU TO COMBINE ALL THOSE DIVERSE MUSICAL ELEMENTS?
  • From our beginning we have tried to create our own musical expression of what is called metal. We like to combine different styles & emotions to show our feelings to people. We also want our music to be aggressive & powerful. We agree that our go further & deeper you can find something more & interesting. Our influences come from different kinds of music, not only metal& we like them all.
4. CAN YOU POINT OUT THE MOST IMPORTANT DIFFERENCES AND SIMILARITIES AMONG “DECADANCE” AND YOUR PREVIOUS RELEASES?
  • When we compare Barriers & Decadance, on our new cd we wanted  to make songs more straight, heavier & not so complicated to listener. There is also saxophone as on our previous CD. In some ways, Decadance contains more energy than Barriers. 
5. WHERE ARE YOUR LYRICS REFERRING TO AND HOW IMPORTANT ARE THEY FOR YOU?  WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO WRITE LYRICS AND WHAT CAN TAKE THE INSPIRATION AWAY FROM YOU? YOU MAINLY FOCUS ON FEELINGS AND HUMAN THOUGHTS. WHY? WHAT DO YOU FIND SO APPEALING IN SUCH LYRICS?
  • We deal more with feelings & metaphors than thoughts in our lyrics. They are expression of our emotions such as love, hate, disgust, anxiety, joy & ecstasy. You can find there themes like search for freedom, the beginning of new emotions, visions, overcoming the past & life of people from darker side. 
6. WOULD YOU LIKE TO EXPLAIN THE COVER ARTWORK FOR US? WHAT DOES IT SHOW AND HOW IS IT CONNECTED WITH THE LYRICS? I CAN’T FIGURE OUT WHAT IT SHOWS…
  • The cover artwork of Decadance shows how it looks like in utero. But when you take a closer look you can see ape embryo. We have chosen this special atmosphere. People are still very similar to animals especially in our deeper desires. This picture can symbolize an evolution of a man. We are growing, living in this complicated world & we don´t know where we are going & how we end. 
7. DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS FOR LIVE SHOWS? WHAT SHOULD THE METALLERS EXPECT FROM A WAYD LIVE SHOW? SHARE SOME OF YOUR EXPERIENCES FROM YOUR LIVE SHOWS WITH US...
  • In these days, we are going to play some gigs in our country. Later, in 2004 we would like to visit western Europe & play there live. But it is only on the level of plants & everything depenss on offers we will receive. We always try to put as much energy as possible to our shows-play aggressively as well as technically. We like people go crazy & share their emotions with us.
8. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE THAT DOESN'T KNOW YOU, IN ORDER TO INTRIGUE HIS INTEREST? WHICH IS YOUR MOST APPEALING ELEMENT ACCORDING TO YOU?
  • We try to play our original way of metal. Our listener shouldn´t be bored of our music & that is our aim.
9. IF YOUR MUSIC WERE AN EMOTION, WHAT WOULD IT BE? IF IT WERE A PAINTING, WHAT WOULD IT SHOW?
  • We think everybody will have his/her own emotion or picture when listening WAYD. It can be a storm , pain, flowing river or anything else….
10. IF YOU HAD A PROPOSAL TO DO A VIDEO CLIP, WHICH SONG OF YOURS WOULD YOU CHOOSE AND HOW DO YOU IMAGINE IT TO BE?
  • We didn´t think about it yet, but it could lither Waiting for the sun, Breaking the ascendance or Velvet deserts. But it wouldn´t be easy to find a good director for this because we don´t have special idea for a video. 
11. IF WE ARE ALL JUST A WORD IN THE GREAT BOOK OF CREATION, CAN YOU SAY WHICH WORD COULD DESCRIBE YOU BETTER? CAN YOU ALSO IMAGINE WHAT KIND OF AUTHOR WOULD BE THE CREATOR OF THIS BOOK AND WHY?
  • Difficult to answer this question. It´s hard to explain human being in one word.
12. IF YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO TRAVEL BACK IN TIME, WHICH HISTORICAL PERIOD WOULD YOU LIKE TO VISIT AND WHY?
  • Probably ancient Greece – for its high developed culture & relationship to nature.
13. DO YOU THINK THAT PERHAPS GOD GOT SO FRIGHTENED OF WHAT HE CREATED THAT HE MOVED TO HEAVEN IN ORDER TO KEEP DISTANCE FROM HIS CREATIONS? :))
  • I think there is no God – all gods were created by human beings. I only respect the powers nature & people I like.
14. LET'S SUPPOSE THAT WE LIVE IN A WORLD WITHOUT MUSIC. WHAT WOULD YOU DO IN SUCH A CASE?
  • It would be emotionally dead world – music belongs to life.
15. IF YOU WERE A FLY, WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE AND WHY?
  •  I would like to be on a shit but it must have been pretty dawn good shit.
16. IN WHICH MOVIE SOUNDTRACK WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE TAKEN PART OR HAVE COMPOSED?
  • Interesting question – I can imagine our music in some horror movies, but it could be also a story about everyday life.

  • We would like to say big hello to all metalheads in Greece. We have heard that Septic Flesh split up recently & it´s a big pity for the world´s metal scene. We are sorry for that. Anyway keeps the metal music alive & thanx for your interest
