Actress Amelia Marshall will be joining the cast of "Passions" in the contract role of 'Liz.'

Passions' creator and headwriter, James E. Reilly reveals that "Liz is introduced on the scene in late September. She owns a small hotel and restaurant and becomes immediately involved with Harmony's core characters."

Marshall's other daytime credits include the contract roles of 'Belinda Keefer' on "All My Children," which she played from 1996 to 1999 and 'Gilly Grant Speakes' on "Guiding Light," which she played from 1989 to 1996. She also played the recurring role of 'Miranda' on "One Life to Live." Marshall's additional television credits include "The District," "What's Lizzy Thinking" and "Cosby." She has appeared in the films "Cul-de-Sac" and "Spencer" and played the role of 'Phoebe' in Bob Fosse's "Big Deal" on Broadway.

Amelia's first tape date is August 27, 2001. Her first airdate is scheduled for September 27, 2001.

New Characters!!!!!

Soap vet Christopher Douglas joins the cast of 'Passions' in the contract role of Brian, a character who is abruptly thrust into the lives of the citizens of Harmony. While we won't know much about this mystery man at first, he will immediately impact the lives of four of our characters...and the consequences will be major.

Christopher Douglas' previous credits include roles on the daytime dramas 'The Young and the Restless' and 'One Live to Live.' He has also appeared in the telefilms 'Shadow Warriors' for TNT and 'The Pick Up' for Showtime. Douglas has also made guest appearances on 'Burke's Law,' 'Honor and Duty,' 'Saved by the Bell: The College Years,' and 'Married with Children.' Additionally, Douglas has modeled for fashion designers Gianni Versace and Giorgio Armani, appeared in ads for Old Spice and the National Dairy Board, been selected as one of YM Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful Guys" and appeared in Tori Amos' video, Cornflake Girl.

Douglas begins taping on August 20, 2001. His first airdate is scheduled for September 24, 2001.
