"Fadechase Marathon" Artist: Babe, Terror Label: Glue Moon 2018 All about Babe, Terror (bio, press, videos, etc): http://geocities.ws/babeterror/ Over the course of 7 years, sometimes in parallel to Ancient M'ocean (released in 2017), brazilian artist Claudio Szynkier worked on an album that had recently final adjustments and will be released in September 18th with Glue Moon label. It is the new Babe, Terror album, Fadechase Marathon, which continues his collection of works thought and made especially for the tape. It also is the continuation of his research on the secrets of dawn, his expeditions on lands built by the will of being in the heart of foretime. This album, Babe, Terror's 8th, is a deepening in fictions of underground parties, which are in fact, according to the artist, the celebrations of the human interior, parties that occur in the gaps of the heart. Perhaps Babe, Terror is presenting in Fadechase Marathon his most solar and nostalgic version of the "Wrong Dance Music" launched in Knights (2012), and undoubtedly there are his joyfulest composing experiences with the piano, using different takes and recording modes in each song of this microgenre that exists in his discography. He sings, plays and crafts a moldy, campestral, rural and nocturnal atmosphere, a far-away but warm residence for the listener. Fadechase Marathon is the avenue, the urban movement that leads to the portal of this house that shelters an attic that brings you to some snowy rural place in 1977. Some constructions on this album began to be lifted in 2011. There was a long pause and he went back to work in 2015, finishing in 2017 and 2018, with a few more strokes. It took, as Ancient M'ocean did to some extant, its definitive shape with time. Babe, Terror has spent the all these years developing the melodies, the recording forms -especially the piano-, the captation and the sound coating of the album, achieved with the help of the Moonmelter Station, an automated delay and reverb station with specific sound, able to be adjusted & readjusted in a touch and in sync with the other instruments and samples played. Those were years that passed quickly, but, if looked at together, they form a whole life, a life of passages, small changes, clearings and unearthings. A whole chapter which is mainly about the definition of a composition body of fantasies. It's about affirming an inner universe musically. São Paulo's producer likes to call this new album a "lodge-fi, grotto-house, cave-wave monument made for myself and my few listeners with me since 2008". But maybe it can also be called a monument for the people in need of a major trip. -- Kazunori Noumi, with the input of Claudio Szynkier
