Bittersweet It is just a bittersweet day -
A trial for tempers
A little auld ang syne
A little saturnine
A little sanguine

Very confused
My heart is rejected
My body undesired
It is a little melancholy
Very, very tired -

And the sun beams
Gleams, glares and flares
All through the fetching day
Excuse my wretched ways
Sun, I've forgotten how to play

There is a longing large and deep
For something undefined -
A toe or two into Pacific
A reaching out for a better line
A definite need to be reclined.

Is this day different from another?
It is not the time of Passover -
It is a little, mad and wet belief
Whose end would bring a great relief
Dissolve a small yet great barrier reef

Facing death on a sunny day
Brilliantly being thrown away
Longing, longing, to love every way
Longing for a mood that matches the day
And an old friend to reteach me how to play
