Genus Aglaoapis is discontinuous in distribution. Another species
A. alata Michener, is known with male only. The genus is also
distributed in Finland, South to Spain, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, east of
Caucasus, the Urals and Kazakhstan. In Africa it is recorded only from South
Africa.
