Bee Species of the

Indian Region

Subfamily Diphaglossinae Vachal

[Family Colletidae]

The subfamily has been further subdivided into three tribes, namely: Caupolicanini, Diphaglossini & Dissoglottini. All are primarily American and some of the important references towards phylogeny of the group can be consulted from Moure (1945), Michener (1954, 1966, 1995 & 2000).  Larval characters were presented by McGinley (1981) and pupal characters were described by Torchio and Burwell (1987).
