 Subfamily Meganomiinae Michener

 

[Family Melittidae]

 

 

 

A subfamily of four small genera, Meganomiinae is mainly confined to the xeric areas of eastern and sousthern Africa. It is not known south of the tropic of Capricorn. Some species are also found in Yemen and Madagascar. Taxonomy of genera and for some species should be consulted from Michener (1981 & 1992) and the aspects of behaviour and immatures were described by Rozen (1977).
