Power Backup: A Deep cycle gel cell battery is automatically placed into circuit to provide un-interupted service to all uses. Power is limited to about 2 Watts.

VE3RMI Repeater:  Operates on a frequency of 147.270 +Mhz from 1300 feet about sea level.  Located on a Commercial tower just outside of Little Current it provides tremendous coverage along the North Shore and Manitoulin Island.  If travelling along highway 17 from Blind River to Sudbury, south on Hwy 6 or anywhere on the Island you will be able to access VE3RMI while mobile.  A great place to meet new and old friends while sailing the waters in and around Manitoulin also.  This repeater is also equiped with an autopatch with quick access to the local Emergency Services.

New and upcoming:  During the last week of December, Manitoulin Amateur Radio Club made an addition to VE3RMI (the clubs main repeater). Now, anyone in the area of VE3RMI can have un-interupted QSO's in the event of a power failure. A Deep cycle gel cell battery with between 4-6 hours of run time has been add to the repeater system. Fully automatic, and self contained. Due to the 24Volts needed for the final Power Amp, the PA is not used during backup operation limiting output power of the repeater to about 2 Watts. Thanks Al and Jason for the hard work.
