Lenin and Stalin
Stalin assumed the reins of power in the Soviet Union upon the death of Lenin. His political position differed from that his predecessor, both in domestic and foriegn policy. With the out-break of World War II, Stalin assumed a greater public role. Of the three heads-of-state who presided at the Yalta Conference, only Stalin remained in power during the post-War Era.
