Foolish
Games story
By Sarahime [email protected]
You took your coat off and stood in the
rain,
You were always crazy like that
I was watching out the window, and I saw him. Touya. Rain-soaked Touya. He hadn’t
even gone home- he was still wearing his school outfit. I know he always
changes his clothes when he’s home. He saw me looking at him, and he waved. I
ignored him, and he called out to me. I could hear him through the slightly
open window, he was saying he was sorry.
I watched from my window,
always felt I was outside looking in on you
I didn’t care what he said. I didn’t want an apology- I wanted him. But he
didn’t understand. I don’t think he realizes how much he hurt me.
You were always the mysterious one
with dark eyes and careless hair,
You were fashionably sensitive, but too cool to care
Pushing his wet hair out of his face, I saw the sadness in his eyes. He hurt
me, now I hurt him. But I couldn’t stay mad at him- he’s my friend, my best friend,
and I would do anything for him. I saw him heading up the walkway. I walked
through the living room and stood by the door. Touya knocked, and waited for me
to answer. I opened the door and looked at him.
Then you stood in my doorway, with
nothing to say
besides some comment on the weather
“Hey Yuki...” he said.
I stared at him, and my eyes watered slightly.
“Uh... It’s raining,” he commented.
“Gee, you’re brilliant.” As soon as the words came out of my mouth, I regretted
saying them. “Oh Touya, I’m sorry. I-”
“No Yuki. You don’t have to be sorry. I’m sorry. I know I upset you,” he
stopped me by putting a finger on my lips.
Well in case you failed to notice,
In case you failed to see,
This is my heart bleeding before you,
This is me down on my knees
Touya stepped into the house, pulled his hand away from my face and closed the
door. “Look Yukito, I really am sorry. I- I just didn’t believe that you loved
me,” he quietly explained.
“Do you love me?” I asked.
“Yes, Yuki. I do, I love you with all my heart.”
‘But I thought he didn’t.’
These foolish games are tearing me apart
your thoughtless words are breaking my heart
You're breaking my heart
‘Why? Why do you torture me like this? Do you find joy in it? First you say you
don’t love me, then you say you do?’ I thought. “How do I know you’re not
lying?” I question him.
Touya leaned forward and kissed my lips, softly, then pulled away. He didn’t
even blush, but I went very red.
“You just have to trust me this time,” he whispered and pulled me into a tight
hug.
You were always brilliant in the morning
Smoking your cigarettes, talking over coffee
Your philosophies on are, Baroque moved you,
You loved Mozart and you'd speak of your loved ones
As I clumsily strummed my guitar
Leaning my head on my friend’s shoulder, I wrapped my arms around him and
pulled him closer to me. “I believe you Touya,” I smiled. “But I’m sorry,” I
continued. “I didn’t mean to just say-“
“I already told you, its okay,” Touya said. “So stop apologizing,” he said and
released me. “I’m the one that did anything wrong. I was the one who got mad,
remember? So it’s oke.”
‘I’m still not sure,’ I think. ‘How do I know he’s not just trying to make me
feel better?’
Excuse me, think I've mistaken you for
somebody else
Somebody who gave a damn,
Somebody more like myself
I thought for a moment, then realized he was serious. I kissed him, and told
him I loved him. Touya held me close, then said he had to leave.
“But... Good-bye,” I whispered as he opened the door.
These foolish games are breaking my heart
your thoughtless words are breaking my heart
You're breaking my heart
Touya smiled at me and headed out the door as the rain poured down ever harder
all around.
You took your coat off and stood in the
rain
you were always crazy like that
