Riding the twisties (Aug. 6, 2006)

We had our first group ride with the Westside Buellers EARLY this morning. Weather was perfect. I really felt in the groove. A bit disappointed though. I was really hoping to give Hwy 60 a run for it's money but by the time we got there I was worn out.  3 hours in the saddle will do that to you.

Since I pretty much have street and highway riding down and can keep up on sweepers my next conquest is THE TWISTIES. I mean REAL ones. My goal is to hit the corners on Hwy 60 at least 10 miles over the speed limit WITHOUT braking before entry.
Once I do that with comfort, time to move up to a more powerful bike. As much as I love the Blast and it handles like a dream, I have to admit I have outgrown it for city/hwy riding.

I would LOVE to have an XB9R (RED or course) but can't afford it. Frew says we will probably look at a Ho-Kawa-Yama-zuki because they are a bit faster but A LOT cheaper than a Buell. He thinks probably a Ninja 500 will be the next step up and a good trianing bike. THEN, maybe, just maybe Buell will take the hint like they did on the Ulysesses and make the standard height just an inch or 2 shorter.
