“At least she told me before my days off.”
Daniel nodded to Jack grimly, “that was considerate.”
“Two weeks she thought about it. Did she tell you that?”
“I’m taking, she had doubts?”
“Yeah and I cleared them up.”
“Jack! Why?”
“You know why, Daniel.”
“Stupid military-”
“We got them for a reason. We have a job to do. If she’s happy then I’m happy.”
Looking around the bar Daniel asked. “Then, why are you here?”
Putting the fourth empty bottle of beer down Jack sighed, “Someday, you’ll realize that being happy for someone else, doesn’t really give yourself happiness.”
