The last thing the world needs is another blog!! So here's another one. I've wanted to start a blog for a long time. I resisted the urge for almost as long since it seems like one of the most self-indulgent, egoistic (that a word?) things a person can do, since by its very nature it's all about me, me, me. It even struck me once as the virtual equivalent of somone who loves the sound of their own voice too much.

I mean really -- do I have anything important to say to the world?? Certainly not and I don't delude myself that I do. But on the other hand, is posting something to the internet really communicating to the whole world? Um, no. It may be communicating with probably the handful of people who will ever run across this blog, especially here in the Marianas trench of the deep web.

So, I welcome you to my blog! You are certainly one of the few visitors this blog will ever see! You are my valued customer! Except I'm not selling anything...

So I'm starting my blog pretty much just because I want to, and more or less reconciled to the fact that no one may ever see it. I hate to think of this as like throwing a message in a bottle into the ocean, because I�ve done that and the response rate was 1 out of 6, but it may well turn out to be that way.

I may never have anything important to say here, but I hope I'll have interesting things to say. I hope they�re interesting to you. I know they're interesting to me!
