Dumb People
If there was ever any doubt, rest assured that there are dumb people in the world. People with whom you can try your best, and do everything you can to help them understand, and yet in the end you�re left with the unavoidable conclusion that they�re just plain dumb.
My faith in humanity though, compels me to fervently hope that this ultimately boils down to nothing more than an unwillingness of these �dumb� people to admit what they do not know and do not understand, and consequently an unwillingness to take steps to learn those things. Things one does not understand can compound --especially if they fake understanding of them -- and the more this happens the �dumber� you can get, imho.
Perhaps this is related to a fascinating article I once read about incompetence, where a study was done that shows that incompetent people also lack the ability to realize that they�re incompetent. So they think they�re experts at everything they utterly fail at�
