Charlie's Blog #51: Artist found!

Artist found!

So I decided just to use the tools/media at hand (MS Paint) and came up with these! And I'm pretty happy with them! :-) MS Paint, I realized, is good at straight lines, splashes of bold colors, and cubism (two dimensionally anyway), so I thought what the heck.

Koan

I actually surprised myself by inadvertently creating a bit of a Zen koan of a picture my first time out! Woah! The lines and the swooshes all lead the eye to roughly the middle -- where you'd expect there to be something, but there is nothing! Really the swooshes were all I had in mind to do, inspiration-wise, and I thought of the background as I started. Once that was done, I realized something needed to go where it all lead the eye, but what? No ideas. Then how about nothing!! Make it a koan! :-)

Killer Whale

I wanted to represent a natural form in a cubist way. I thought I would do a horse, but then decided to start out with a simpler form, like a killer whale.

Wow that was fun! I'll have to do this again sometime soon! :-)
