Alexis Denisof (Wesley)

Born on February 25th in Salisbury, Maryland, Alexis Denisof soon left his hometown and moved to Seattle where he spent the early years of his life. At age 13 he attended the exclusive St. Paul's Boarding School in New Hampshire, though his acting career began earlier with the ACT (A Contemporary Theatre) in Seattle. After high school Alexis continued to pursue his craft overseas where he attended the prestigious London Academy of Music & Dramatic Arts. After graduating he got his first small taste of fame in George Harrison's music video "Got My Mind Set On You." This exposure helped him land his first feature role as Tony Zonis in the British film "Murder Story." He stayed in London for the next 13 years (which allowed him to develop a very realistic British accent) and continued to work in both theatre and television. On stage he appeared in "Hamlet" with the Royal Shakespeare Company alongside Ian McKellan, as well as appearing in "A Tale of Two Cities" with the Greenwich Theatre. His television roles included Rossendale in "Sharpe's Revenge," "Sharpe's Justice," and "Sharpe's Waterloo," as well as Tybalt in "Romeo and Juliet." Alexis also continued to pursue film and appeared in the 1998 Sundance Film Festival hit "The Misadventures of Margaret" with Parkey Posey and Brooke Shields. However, Alexis' first big break came in 1999 when he landed the role of Wesley Wyndam-Pryce in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Able to exercise his comedic talents, Alexis embraced the quirky character so well that when the spin-off "Angel" launched he soon found himself as a series regular. Over the course of the next five years Alexis was able to portray one of the most tragic character arcs in recent television history as Wesley descended from a comical joke to a dark shell of a human being. On October 11th, 2003, Alexis married "Buffy" co-star Alyson Hannigan. Currently enjoying a more relaxed life since the conclusion of "Angel," Alexis has stepped back from the spotlight for the time being, though he will undoubtedly resurface to tackle new and challenging roles.
