Anti-US sentiment and warnings "Among the gaudy posters of film stars and mountain scenes on sale at stalls in the dusty alleys of Peshawar's Khyber bazaar, one stands out. A picture of a bearded gunman in a white turban is emblazoned with the words: "I Love Osama bin Laden". The market's number one pin-up is the world's most-wanted terrorist." PESHAWAR, Pakistan - American commandos likely to descend on Pakistan's tribal areas may not be too keen on acquiring the supreme fashion accessory of 2001 in the region, the Osama bin Laden T-shirt, boasting such inscriptions as "World Hero" and "The Great Mujahid of Jihad". They're selling briskly in Peshawar's Saddar bazaar for less than US$2 a pop. The US special forces guys could also take back home a few examples of Osama rappin', available on cassette tapes. They could collect Osama mug shots with lovely psychedelic overtones, and even an Osama video - where the No 1 on the FBI's most wanted list on charges of international terrorism preaches from a mosque and talks to his faithful jihadis in the field. Osama says, "You gotta leave all these places run by 'allies of Jews and Christians' and come to me to do the jihad." He calls for "blood, blood and destruction, destruction" - referring to an array of Muslim victims from Palestine to Chechnya, from Lebanon to Kashmir. PESHAWAR, Pakistan - While the Pakistani authorities have agreed to comply with UN sanctions on Afghanistan's Taliban militia, radical Islamic groups within Pakistan are gearing up to launch an anti-United States offensive against these curbs. Action will include destruction of US-based goods and calls for a trade boycott. Demonstrators plan on Friday to set fire to consumer goods made in the United States, in this northwestern Pakistani city in a symbolic show of protest to the punitive measures initiated by the UN Security Council on the Taliban. The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islami, a forum of Islamic scholars, has also prepared a list of 28 US-made goods, including Coke and Pepsi, which it will ask shopkeepers not to sell.

"We should now target India" On September 16, 1999, the world's most wanted terrorist, Saudi dissident Osama bin Laden, called for an all out jehad against India and the United States. In a statement issued from Farmihadda, once a Soviet-style collective farm in southern Jalalabad (in Afghanistan) and now one of the places where Osama Bin Laden lives, he declared: "India and America are our biggest enemies... all mujahideen groups in Pakistan should come together now to target India." Now, that the jehadis have realised their first dream, attacking the US, it is for India to be prepared for militias’ fresh offensive against the country. TheNewspaperToday presents an exhaustive package on the world’s most wanted terrorist: analysis, Laden’s training and logistic camps, his profile, etc. By Jason Burke in Islamabad and Harinder Baweja

KARACHI: Amir Markaz Dawa wal Irshad Hafiz Muhammad Saeed said our struggle is not limited to Kashmir. Kashmir is the gateway and a field for further preparation. We will fight long war for the favor of Allah. The Jihad caravan that emerged from Afghanistan will advance through Kashmir and Junagarh. He expressed these ideas while addressing a "Defense of Jihad" Seminar held in a Local Hotel. Professor Hafiz Muhammad Saeed further said Jihad caravan would reach Bosnia, Eritrea, Bangladesh, Philippine and Chechnya (and then to London, New York, Tokyo) http://www.voi.org/books/cpak/ch3.html

"He also said it was necessary to wage jihad against America, for "occupying" Saudi Arabia. This jihad is the particular obsession of the Saudi exile Osama bin Laden: the struggle to evict American troops from Saudi Arabia, who are there at the invitation of the Saudi king. Samiul Haq says he believes that these troops are polluting holy soil. A jihad, then, is compulsory. And in a jihad, he said, these American troops are targets.."

"If he were asked to do so, he said, he would go to London, Paris or New York and blow up women and children for Islam. "Yes, I would do it," he said quietly, without hesitation." "There's no other country in the world where 100,000 well-armed militant fundamentalists could end up controlling nuclear weapons"..."Pakistan may be competing for the title of America's worst nightmare." mms://www.chalomumbai.com/MEDIA/DIR34/17206.ASF

"Twenty "operators" left Bombay for Dubai on different dates in February, 1993. They left Dubai in three groups by PIA flights on February 9, 13 and 20, 1993. From Islamabad Airport they were driven off in a covered vehicle, having been spared the Immigration procedures. It was a two hours drive through a detour to desolate camp from the Islamabad Airport. The dressage was severe, professional, sparing little details, comprised physical exercises, use of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), handling of grenades and marksmanship with Kalashnikov rifles. The operators were briefed specially to target shopping centers, bridges, car parking areas, crowded localities and temples. The damage was to be quick, final and gruesome. The schooling complete, the departure of the runners from Islamabad to Dubai, on 1st March, 1993 was again arranged sans Immigration formalities. "

"Before stepping down as Pakistan President in July 1993, Ahmed reveals, Ishaq Khan told Sharief that the impetus for these blasts came from ISI chief Lt General Javed Nasir. Muneer Ahmed faced a sedition case in 1994 for his book on the intelligence agencies' political role in Pakistan. The present book, too, highlights the army and ISI's role in the country's political instability. Ishaq Khan said he had proof to show how the Memon brothers, the key accused in the blasts case, were kept in Karachi as government guests, how they were brought to Pakistan and then transported to Dubai. Tiger Memon's first assignment was to select targets for bombing. The targets were to be such as to cause maximum human damage. Death : Fine; Grievous Injuries : Not bad; Devastation to property : Welcome. Memon memorized it all, with a will and wherewithal to implement to the last details, which he did. He did it well after getting briefings, with the help of his reconnaissance team that surveyed the spots. Clean. Tiger Memon purchased new vehicles to be used as vehicle bombs in fictitious names by making payments in cash. The fleet included an Ambassador car, Maruti vans, Maruti cars, Mahendra jeeps and Bajaj scooters. RDX mixed with shrapnel, nails, bolts etc., was filled in the boot cavities specially engineered on the vehicles. As a last minute foresight, on 10th and 11th of March, 1993, Tiger Memon sent his family to Dubai in two batches later to proceed for Karachi by flight PK-214 on March 17,1993, fearing reprisals. After filling in on his team desperadoes, Tiger Memon himself left for Dubai in the early hours of March 12, 1993. "
