It's late.  Your buds are hungry and Taco Bell just won't cut it.  What do you do?  What do you DO?

You head to The Village Tavern, that's what you do.  They have some of the absolute best "bar" food around, and the kitchen is open until 1:00am.  (Call ahead if you can when it is late.)  They have nachos, burgers, wings, chicken fingers, gyros, hummus, and--my favorite--taquitos (along with a lot more).  They also have some pretty good beers on tap, and a large selection of bottled beer, visible in large wall coolers behind the bar.  From Budweiser to Wild Goose India Pale Ale, they've got it.  They also have Smirnoff Ice and other malt beverages.

Besides the food, The Village Tavern has almost a lodge feel, with a lot of dark wood and a bar that is actually quite attractive, if you can call bars attractive.  They have TVs, foosball, pool tables, Golden Tee, and two pinball machines (with one of them being a Guns-n-Roses machine--did you see them at the VMAs?  Not the same, not the same...)

And music?  Owner Trey Lofton pulls in some great local and regional acts--Danielle Howle, Cat Power, and Carbon Leaf, among many others.  From one person and a guitar to a loud rock band, The Village Tavern has a very, very full music schedule to suit your needs.  They have regular bluegrass and karaoke, and pack each weekend in with musical favorites and up-and-comers.

So...if you thought going out in Mt. Pleasant was limited to that wing place, guess again--get cozy, well-fed, and well-watered at The Village Tavern.  If you have ever wanted to try something new, this is the place to do it.  What's a Franziskaner, anyways?
Bathrooms:  Very nice, actually.  I felt good and safe there.
Bar Staff:  Very pleasant and personable.
Beverages:  Nice selection, especially of bottled beers and malt beverages.
Music:  Excellent bookings--acoustic to bluegrass to British to rock...they do a great job with the music scheduling!
Crowd:  Locals, but also music-lovers and those who have heard about the great reputation that this relatively new establishment is garnering.
Parking:  Free; in a shopping center
Atmosphere:  Warm, inviting--you will fit right in.
