More than this, we found also : Chaingmai, Chaing Mai, Chaingmei, Chaing Mei, Cheingmai, Cheing Mai, Chiangmei, Chiang Mei, Chiengmei and Chieng Mei. So at least 123 ways to write "เชียงใหม่" in Roman script.

We decided to use The Royal Thai General System of Transcription by Royal Institute (ราชบัณฑิตยสถาน). The lastest version was in 1999. Because it is the most formal and widest used in Thailand such as the name of places, roads, government organizations, etc. So "เชียงใหม่" is "Chiang Mai".

The exception is for some proper names that writen by the owner itself, for examples, "รัศมีธรรม" we use as the restaurant owner's "Rassameedhamma" (by The Royal Institute system it is "Ratsamitham").
