Perry Fuller's Churchwarden

Floating the Boat

Earlier this fall someone mailed in a check, made out to THE CHURCHWARDEN, which I returned immediately because I could not cash it. Although there are substantial expenses associated with printing and postage, I am not set up to receive funds in the name of the newsletter. THE CHURCHWARDEN is one of those grass root deals just big enough to be a little costly, but too small to warrant the legal and logistical hassles of acquiring a non-profit status. Of course, this creates a very awkward situation because the only way I can accept the financial generosity of friends is by means of checks made out to me personally. This is a frightening position to be in. My desire is to execute the work of THE CHURCHWARDEN under the blessing of rock solid credibilityfree from any suspicion of improprietyfor the sake of the Gospel. Therefore, please do not send monetary gifts unless you are specifically and unmistakably led otherwise. THE CHURCHWARDEN will certainly stay afloat until the Lord sees fit to sink it, so I am not worried about money. I am, however, extremely concerned about a good testimony before the church and the world.

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
