Cillian - The Rest of the Best

When Daddy put my first two CDs together, he foolishly believed that he had put together a collection that represented the best there is in music. Then Daddy started coming across more and more things that hed left out! That left him no choice but to make one more CD - The Rest of the Best!

1. Back in Black - AC/DC
There are some songs/artists on this CD that will leave you shaking your head when you realize that Daddy forgot to include them, and this is one of them. One of the all-time classics of hard rock, this song, and the album of the same name, are an excellent tribute to former AC/DC frontman Bon Scott, who had passed away.

2. Cult of Personality - Living Colour
An excellent song with an compelling political message, this song was Living Colours biggest hit and is one of the most easily-recognizable hard rock songs ever written.

3. Cum On Feel the Noize - Quiet Riot
This song, a cover of a Slade tune, helped make Quiet Riots Metal Health album the first heavy metal album to ever hit #1 on the pop charts! Not bad for a song written by people who cant spell.

4. Dam That River - Alice in Chains
Daddy isnt a big fan of grunge music, but Alice in Chains is so good he decided to make an exception. This is a classic tune from their Dirt album, which is one of Daddys favorites.

5. Dear Mr. President - P!nk
Are you a big fan of President Bush? Try listening to this song, an open letter to the President, and see if it changes your mind!

6. Don't Know What You've Got - Cinderella
One of the classic power ballads of the hair band era. A great song by a band with a silly name.

7. 6th Avenue Heartache - The Wallflowers
The Wallflowers is another one of Daddys favorite bands, and he had a lot of trouble picking out which Wallflowers song to use. He finally settled on this one, which features Adam Duritz of Counting Crows on background vocals.

8. In the Air Tonight - Phil Collins
Who wouldve thought that the same guy who sings Groovy Kind of Love would write the ultimate song about revenge? It is about revenge, right? Actually, there are a lot of urban legends about this song and what its about. To find out more about this song, head over to Wikipedia now!

9. Learning to Fly - Pink Floyd
What? No Pink Floyd on my other CDs? Daddy couldnt believe he forgot Pink Floyd, so he made sure he included a song from them on this CD. This was another tough choice, but Learning to Fly has always been Daddys favorite Pink Floyd song.

10. Looking for Love - King's X
Never heard of Kings X? Most people havent. Like Saigon Kick and some of Daddys other favorite bands, theyre considered to be one of those best bands you never heard of by critics and their fans. But if you like rock guitar riffs, funky rhythm sections, and Beatles harmonies, you should check them out!

11. Poison - Alice Cooper
Alice Cooper is another essential part of a good rock music education. Hes best known for Schools Out and Im Eighteen, but Daddy decided to go with the first Alice song he ever heard, which is still his favorite.

12. Pour Some Sugar on Me - Def Leppard
The undisputed kings of the hair metal scene. Def Leppard has so many classic songs that it was hard to choose just one, but since they hardly ever release albums, that made it easier. Just think, the next album they release will be out by the time I graduate from high school!

13. Runnin' with the Devil - Van Halen
Eddie Van Halen picked up where Jimi Hendrix left off, and lots of people say he was the last true innovator on electric guitar. Van Halen is one of the classic bands of all time, regardless of whether youre talking about the original lineup or the Van Hagar era. This is the first track off their classic debut album.

14. Turn the Page - Bob Seger
If you got everything you know about Bob Seger from a Ford truck commercial, you are missing out. Seger has a lot of great songs, like Night Moves and Against the Wind, but this one is Daddys favorite and is one of the most universally-known songs of all time.

15. Afraid to Shoot Stangers - Iron Maiden
Daddy smacked himself in the forehead when he realized that hed left one of the best, and most influential, heavy metal bands of all time off my other CDs. This is Daddys favorite Iron Maiden song.

16. Angel - Aerosmith
Now I bet youre smacking your forehead too! Its hard to believe that Daddy forgot to include a track by the Bad Boys from Boston, one of the most influential bands of all time. This was the first Aerosmith song that Daddy ever heard.

17. Another One Bites the Dust - Queen
What better way to close out the CD than with yet another band that should never have been left off my first two CDs? This was a VERY hard choice for Daddy, because there are so many classic Queen songs. Fortunately, Daddy said I can borrow the rest of his Queen CDs whenever I want!

Is that it? Is everything covered? Daddy put his foot down and said he wasnt making any more CDs after this one, but Ive got a feeling that he forgot a band - or more than one - again. Am I right? Well have to wait and see
