Reserve Officers
The Colfax Reserve Officers are extremely important members of the Police Department. They have initiated the first bicycle patrol that the department has had. It has been very well recieved by the community. They have been active with such activities as the Kids Fest, presentations to Cub and Boy Scout groups and presentations to classes at the Colfax-Mingo Grade School. They also play key roles in the departments ability to deal with  such annual events as the Jasper County Fair and Mineral Springs Days. The presence of a Reserve Officer in a patrol unit with a certified officer greatly increases the safety levels for not only the officers but the people we encounter.

Each officer is required to attend an average of 4 hours a month training and give 8 hours a month service. Most of these dedicated men and women give much more. All of this for the salary of $1.00 a year!!
