IN THE BEGINNING
1999 saw the formation of The Craigmount Cougars.  The story started one Thursday after school in Craigmount High School.  Scott Couper and Ben Torriero were doing their duty in the
Scottish Claymores grassroots programme by encouraging schools to make up flag football teams.  Another coach was there, his name was Chris Smith who was to be The Cougars' Head Coach.  For the few weeks following this there was a large number of people comming along, but soon the numbers started to dwell (originally there was about 30 people comming along, but now there is a group of 12 players who come along week in week out).

THE FIRST TOURNAMENT

It was in the middle of November that The Cougars found out about this tournament that was to take place in Glasgow.  There wasn't a prize as such, it was just a get together of football teams around Scotland.  The Cougars played 3 games, only winning once but they still did very well for their first tournament.

ANOTHER TOURNAMENT
It was at the tournament in Glasgow that The Cougars found out about this competition comming up early in the New Year to find the Scottish Flag Football Champion by playing a series of games which could ultimately lead up to The Wolrd Flag Cup in Canada.  This leads us on to what happens in the year 2000.
