I truly believe that the adoption records should be opened and that each party be allowed to contact one another, as long as the parties understand that the contact is both ways and done in a loving manner. Thanks again for the petition. Jan Mead

i was able to find my birth mother after years of searching. i had exhausted every possible means i could think of. then, throught the help of a book, decided to write a letter to the family court judge in the county that i was adopted in. i gave him personal info about myself and requested that social services look through their records in an attempt to locate my birth mother, or members of her family. bear in mind, i had came to the realization that no matter what happened, i knew it would be okay (if she did or did not wish to see me). my adoptive parents, and myself had to complete a form relinquishing our right to privacy. once that was received it was no more than two weeks and i knew her name, phone number, and address. and to think it took a $.33 stamp! wish the best of luck. I found my birth mother approx.6 months ago, thought we had a nice relationship going, and now that she knows that my wife and i are financially well off,she expects help as if she was entitled to it.She married and has 3 children, was widowed 2 years ago,and expects my wife and i to help her family.her children are all over age 30.needless to say,the only mother i will help is the one who adopted me at the age of 6 weeks, and is the ONLY one who i call mom! I hope all are prepared to face the reality that not all reunions are what they appear to be on oprah or the other good story shows, and that going into a search can also lead to what i've been through. I wish all searchers success, but be prepared! Chuck Cimino

ISO half and full siblings!!
UPDATED INFO: Am in contact with birth mother via letters. ISO half and full siblings as well as birth father or his family! I located Georgia E Sheridan(maiden name) however... STILL ISO James L Dobbs bd 7-11-27 OR 7-11-25 born in Athens TN and has lived in many states from GA to WA and.... 1930 census stated his father David L Dobbs bn abt 1898, mother Myrtle M (Cloud unsure of spelling, full blood Cherokee) bn abt 1904, Dollie bn abt 1921, Ethel bn abt 1923; as well as a younger brother must have been born after 1930 from records I have. Both he and his father were said to be painters and David died from an on the job injury in mid 60s. His mother Myrtle went back to TN when he was a young boy. There are siblings, half and full, one full sibling was born and adopted out of WA area before 1972. Possible other full siblings as well; ran across a post with a JKevin ISO same parents. Maybe born in TX? Half siblings born to Georgia, their father (who divorced in 1965) Paul Germeau (passed around2000) State took custody of them and one had died 4-29-71, Michael, hit by a truck while walking to school. He was 8 years old and living with foster parents Mr & Mrs Leo G Steiner in Lynnwood WA. Another child was named Paula or Pauline...as well as possible other one. Unsure if James had any other children, none stated in papers however he had been married at least 5 times before Georgia.
