Camp Blue Heron
Blue Heron is an official Scout Camp located just south of Riceboro, GA. There are frequently Parent and Pal weekends there where Cub Scouts can camp and earn several belt loops, as well as earn their Whittlin' Chip (to allow them to carry a knife). It's also just a fun place to go.
Directions:
From I-95 take the Hwy 17 exit, may also say Riceboro (sorry I usually don't go this way). It is the exit south of the Hinesville/Midway exit. Turn right onto Hwy 17. Go North for approximately 6 miles. There will be a small, brown Blue Heron sign on the right. Then just follow the signs.
From Hwy 17. Continue south on Hwy 17 through Riceboro. Just south of Riceboro (about a mile or so) is a small, brown Blue Heron sign. Just follow the signs to the camp.
Once at Blue Heron, you will need to know where stuff is. The following is a map of the area. Best camp sites are campsite #2 (because of its central location and proximity to Central Shower #1) and Campsites 9 and 10 if your group is doing a lot of shooting sports (since they are close to the ranges).
