Kaiser's Note :
This in my mind was the best summary I have read about what Fox cut in each episode. Although there are some biased opinions in the summaries, I totally agree with him.
Episode 6:  Blue Birds of Horror

This week, Fox cut some stuff out, and the rest they left in.

Seriously though, this was another routine villainy du jour middle episode, so there wasn't much of anything controversial in here. Fox left the first two acts practically untouched, and even(!) kept the commercial breaks in the same places. Changes include dropping minor dialogue from Lucas and Jose, small bookend trims from several bird-attack scenes, and an early fade to black transition (going into "Day Two...") was made into a horizontal wipe. (No big whoop with the wipe here, but this technique will douse some intensity if(when) applied to episode 12.)

Toward the end, things became more choppy. They cut the establishing shot (pictured at right) where Cybersix locates Jose's broadcast tower, sped up the shot where Jose surveys the silent city for his birds, inserted that final commercial break, and the sound effect where Jose punches the release switch on the monster-bird's cage was muted (made quieter).

One of the closing fight sequences includes a long profile shot of a Fixed Idea thug with Cybersix in a headlock: as a second assailant comes charging in from the left, Cybersix does a backflip to break free, kicking the oncoming guard in the head. In a puzzling edit that marks new ground with its stupidity, Fox has simply blacked out those three frames where her foot cracks the guy's jaw. Go figure.

Next week: ??? -- Didn't see any CYBERSIX preview in my recordings, so who knows what Fox is scheming at...
