Kaiser's Note :
This in my mind was the best summary I have read about what Fox cut in each episode. Although there are some biased opinions in the summaries, I totally agree with him.
Episode 9:  Full Moon Fascination

Once upon a time when I went trick-or-treating, some wisehead candy-giver threw these foil-wrapped "treats" into my bag that resembled chocolate Easter eggs. When I got home and sifted through my collection of sweets, I found that these foil goodies were in fact... olives. (True story!)

No, Fox's edit on today's show wasn't quite that bad, but my teaser from a couple of weeks ago should have alerted you to the fact that the fight scenes in this episode would be kicked around some. Needless to say, moments of impact were cut with those orange-red flashes -- such as the werewolf slamming into the wall in the opening fray, etc. -- but there were a few other olives too...

In the second act, there are two scenes where Adrian watches with suspicion as Lucas and Elaine walk together from the school: in the original version, we could only hear the indistinct din of surrounding students. Fox has (therefore) stapled in bits of conversation from other parts of the episode. In the first instance, they have Elaine once again saying "Like the hair, Lucas," and Lucas supposedly responding with "I don't wanna get into it." Later, Fox added broken lines of dialogue from the 'date' scene at Lucas' apartment.

A cluster of little snips that I'll handle as a list:

- They cut a close-up of werewolf-Elaine sssnarling as she is hit by the police spotlights.
- Cut a close-up of Cybersix's hands pulling her gloves on as she changes into costume.
- Cut a couple of shots of Lucas scattering his books as he transforms into a werewolf, and a damn-!-cool shot of him jumping from his apartment window with the background whipping past in a blur as he drops to the street.
- Cut the terrified reaction of the boyfriend in the car that Lucas attacks, and a subsequent shot of Lucas running from the scene.

In the closing action, edits that we are treated to become more unsavory.
When Lucas is confused about whether he should be fighting Cybersix, a nugget was removed where Elaine cackles, "Friend? Lucas, she's your enemy! Destroy her..."
Fox also predictably plucked sweet morsels from shots where Cybersix is tossed, stomped, and battered by Elaine.
At the end, when the image of Von Reichter pops up, some spooky speed-distorted laughter has been layered into the soundtrack alongside Von Reichter's own demented yuks.

...Proving once again that you should always check your candy for tampering.
(By the way, I didn't eat those olives. )

N E X T :
You are getting dizzy, very dizzy... Your mind is not your own... Spellbinding surprises and eye-popping action as Meridiana falls under the zombifying-thrall of an unstoppable cyclopean monster! Watch the animators pull out all the stops with enough drawing work for an episode and a half! (How much survives the Fox cut... remains to be seen.)
