2/10/02 - Hello Seattle University Karate Club Members. It seems that over the weeks we have under went many changes, as well as added a new karate club section within the karate club. A club called IKO3 has joined the Seattle University Karate Club Section. The club president and the outside adviser have approved this club. However, this club only specilizes in full-contact karate. Because this club specializes in full contact karate, it will not be for everyone. The main club, SU's Japanese/Okinawan Karate Club, focuses on the three basic aspects of karate, so that club members (novice, intermediate, and advanced) will become familiar with the basic movements of karate, as well as the appreciation for the art and sport of karate.

The IKO3 Karate Club is welcome to establish it's pressence at Seattle University, and it has the full cooperation of the SU Japanese/Okinawan Karate-Do Club.

In other news, Sempai Sharlamane Lilly has been given full authority to head the SU Karate-Do Club. Sempai Carlos Aviado will remain outside adviser to the club. He will continue to help make important decisions for the club, to help the club expand. Sempai Sharlamane will be in charge of the cirriculum, introducing the basic movements of karate, and making the training challenging for others. Also we are still looking into seeing whether or not we will be holding night classes.

12/20/01 - Practice will be held during over Christmas break. Classes will still be the same time.

Congratulations to Sharlamane Lilly in receiving her Ni-Kyu on December the 1st. She is getting closer and closer to receiving her black belt through the Goju-Ryu Karate-Do Kyokai.
