Letters to the Editor
Editors, Atlanta Journal/Constitution:

On the 34th anniversary of Stonewall in New York, the Supreme Court ruled that gays, like all other U. S. citizens, have the right to consensual sex in the privacy of their homes. What makes this ruling huge, rather then merely obvious, is that the radical conservative right has tried with such zeal to impose its religious views onto the moral life of all people. This court supports instead the U.S. Constitution and the American principle written in the Declaration of Independence that we are all equal and that we all have the right to Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness.
The conservatives are right that this ruling could lead to the recognition of homosexual marriage, an acknowledgement of love and commitment already recognized by countries in Europe, Canada, and the progressive state of Vermont. All Americans ought to be proud this weekend as the Gay community celebrates Gay Pride.
