Dr. Seuss Month @ your library!
The Davis Homes Library celebrated March as Dr. Seuss Month.
Dr. Seuss, aka Ted Geissel, is the author responsible for children's
classics, The Cat in The Hat, Horton Hears a Who, and many others.
This author's birthday was March 2.
In celebration the library held daily Storytimes featuring all Seuss
classics. Some of the people who read Seuss stories out loud included
Michael, Cody and Rosa. Teresa Lane, Librarian/VISTA and volunteer
Aaron also amused children with an inspired dramatic recitation of
Green Eggs and Ham.
Any child who read or participated in Storytime was entered into a
weekly drawing for a Dr. Seuss Prize Pack.
Rosa was the first weekly winner! Rosa is 12 years old and attends
Lincoln Middle. Her favorite activies are talking, playing outside
and reading. Her favorite Dr. Seuss book is Hop On Pop.
The second weekly winner and also the third weekly winner, was Scotty,
who is 14 years of age. Scotty is interested in origami and enjoys the
Dr. Seuss book, Green Eggs and Ham.
The fourth weekly winner was Crystal. Crystal is a library regular
and participates each summer in the Summer Reading Program.
Pictured enjoying some Dr. Seuss are volunteers, Michael and Andy,
Youth Minister, First Christian Church, as well as library patrons,
Theresa, Rosa, Dallas, and Crystal.
