The Boogeyman
A Movie Review by Caleb E., age 15
The Boogeyman is a movie where this guy, as a little kid,
watches his dad die, etc. At the end it all works out.
I think that it's a good movie with good effects, not for
little kids...good horror film.
Skeleton Key
Review by Teresa Lane - VISTA/Librarian **** Thumbs up!
This was a very scary movie. It stars Kate Hudson as a burned out home
health aid who is hired to care for a man who's had a stroke. According
to the man's wife, the house is haunted. So haunted in fact, that the
wife has removed all the mirrors to keep from seeing ghosts in the
reflections! Next, the ill man seems to be asking for help and also to
not be left alone with his wife or is he? This movie is suspenseful in
the Alfred Hitchcock tradition and there are a lot of shadows and
frightening camera angles. The ending of the movie is sheer heart
pounding action with a magical battle and the undead! This film is a
must for Kate Hudson fans.
Review by Vada Johnson - Library Patron/Volunteer **** Thumbs up!
This movie you have to see! It has you guessing and don't look away,
you might miss a good part of the movie. It makes very good sense and
since it is almost Halloween you have time to watch it over and over so
that you might catch what you missed the first time. You can also watch
it once, but don't close your eyes...it's very scary.
Rebound
by Kayla
My name is Kayla and this is my review on the movie Rebound.
I recently went to Teen Movie Night at Davis Homes Library
and watched the movie, Rebound, starring Martin Lawrence.
The movie was about a big time basketball coach who was
expelled from his coaching position in the NCBA.
He starts coaching the basketball team at his old junior high school.
The team is whipped into shape by Roy McCormick (Lawrence) and wins
their championship.
He is offered his coaching position in the NCBA back
but he declines because he loves the team he is with.
I thought this movie was a great movie for all ages it is
comical and heart warming. I would recommend it any day.
Roll Bounce
by Moneka
This feature stars: Bow Wow, Brandon T. Jackson, Nick Cannon
Chi McBride, Khleo Thomas, Mike Epps and Meagan Good
Directed by: Malcolm D. Lee
(The Rucker, Undercover Brother, The Best Man)
In the late '70s when roller skating was a way of life,
X (Bow Wow) and his pals ruled supreme. But when the doors
of their local skating rink close, it marks the end of an
era and the beginning of another that sees the boys venture
into foreign territory -- uptown's Sweetwater Roller Rink,
complete with its over-the-top skaters and beautiful girls.
Through his preparation for the showdown of the season -
the Roller Jam skate off with the Sweetwater crew -
X manages to find himself and also help his dad (Chi McBride)
get back on track.
We rate this movie 5 stars.
This movie has great music if you like the 70's style and
some of the best skate moves that only someone with some
skills on four wheels can do... For those who didn't come
by the library Tuesday, January 24th at 4:00 missed a great
feature.
I, Robot
by Keith Whitaker
I was lucky enough to volunteer at
Teen Movie Night on May 30, 2006.
The movie was a version of the book by Asaac Isamov.
It was set in the future in the year 2035, and contained levels
of robotic action and showed a world dominated by robots!
In my opinion we as a society, and world must be aware that
the technology that is now being produced to form such machines
could be beneficial to society.
Although it was PG-13, it was definitely suitable for teens 14-17,
and the entire audience enjoyed the movie.
