Revel Normans

On Esci Horses

Convered Revel Normans atop of Esci Scots Greys This picture is of some of my unpainted Normans that have undergone a little basic surgery as per my cavalry technique. As you may be able to see, I chopped the legs off the Normans whose poses were such that they couldn't be plonked straight onto a horse, chopped the original Napoleonic rider in half, and joined the relevant bits.

In my first attempts at this technique, I would prepare the rider and then join him to his horse. This was not always very successful, as the force required to put the finished rider onto the horse often weakened the bond between the two halves of the rider. I have found better way to do it is to first glue the legs to the horse, and then glue the torso to the legs.
