Dragonball/Z Movie Legends (Power Ups)

Power Ups

Most fighters in DBZ used transformations and power ups that greatly altered their ability to fight in battles. This is where you will find the many techniques that changed the outlook of the fight in the movies.

Senzu Beans: Senzu Beans are magical beans that are grown near Korin's Tower. When eating a bean it will completely restore one's health and power.
Who used it: Goku (DB Movie 3, DBZ Movies 4, 5, 8 & OVA) Krillin (DBZ Movies 4), Piccolo (DBZ Movies 5), Gohan (DBZ Movies 8 & OVA), Future Trunks (DBZ Movies 8 & OVA) & Vegeta (DBZ OVA)

-Saiyan Transformation: When exposed to the light of a full moon, a Saiyan involuntarily transforms into a giant monkey-like beast. While in this form the Saiyan's power is greatly increased. There are two ways to reverse it, one is to cut off the tail and get rid of the moonlight.
Who perform it: Gohan (DBZ Movies 3), Bardock & his crew (Bardock Special)

-Kaioken (God's Technique): Taught by King Kai, When Goku uses this technique, he flares up and gains a large boost to his speed and power. Goku can also use multiplied power to his Kaioken.
Who perform it: Goku (DBZ Movies 2-6)

-Physical Transformation: Creatures such as Garlic Jr. use this ability to change the shape of their body (becomes huge and muscular) so that they can control the power they have inside of them.
Who perform it: Master Roshi (DB 10th Anniversary), Garlic Jr. & Devil Kings (DBZ Movie 1), Bojack (DBZ Movie 9) Janenba (Movie 12), & Hildegarn (DBZ Movie 13)

-Tree of Might Fruit: When Turles eats the fruit from the Tree of Might it tremdeously increases his power.
Who used it: Turles(DBZ Movie 3)

-The Great Fourth Transformation: Koola's ability to raise his ki to a very high level, causing his body to transform into a stage his brother Frieza couldn't reach.
Who perform it: Koola (DBZ Movie 5)

-Assimilation: Android 13 has the ability to absorb Android 14 & 15 power cells to become Super 13, a stronger android.
Who perform it: Android 13 (DBZ Movie 7)

-False Super Saiyan: This was a state of power Goku reached which was not exactly Super Saiyan, nor was it normal. His hair looked like he was using Kaioken, but with the SSJ aura.
Who perform it: Goku (DBZ Movie 4) & Brolly (DBZ Movies 8)

-Super Saiyan: This is something only Saiyan or human/Saiyan hybrids can accomplish (example: Gohan, Goten and Trunks). When a Saiyan is in the Super Saiyan state, their hair turns a blond color, their eyes turn turquoise and they are usually surrounded by a golden energy. The state of Super Saiyan is attained by accomplished by attaining several requirements. The Saiyan must have a quiet, pure and calm heart. The Saiyan must also have a certain amount of power. The final requirement is extreme rage and lust for battle. This is why it was so difficult for Goku to attain SSJ, because he's not normally an angry person. Once in the SSJ state, the Saiyan's heart is filled with anger.
Who perform it: Goku (DBZ Movies 5-8, 10, 12, 13 & OVA), Gohan (DBZ Movies 7-10, Trunks Special & OVA), Vegeta (DBZ Movies 6-9, & OVA) Trunks *Future* (DBZ Movies 7, Trunks Special & OVA), Goten & Trunks *Present* (DBZ Movies 10-13), Gotenks (DBZ Movies 12), & Brolly was the Legendary SSJ* (DBZ Movies 8 & 10)

-Ultimate Super Saiyan Stage 2: The Ultimate SSJ state is used briefly in DBZ right before the Cell Game. This state of SSJ increases the Saiyan's power, but not by much. The Saiyan's body becomes totally pumped up.
Who perform it: Future Trunks (DBZ Movies 8 & 9), & Vegeta (DBZ Movies 8, 9 & OVA)

-Ultimate Super Saiyan Stage 3: This stage was only used in battle once. The Saiyan's body becomes HUGE and muscular. The Saiyan's power is increased by a huge amount during while in this state, however because of the muscular pump-up, the Saiyan is very slow moving and can leave openings for attacks if their opponent is skilled enough to spot them.
Who perform it: Future Trunks (DBZ Movies 8 & 9) & Brolly (DBZ Movie 8 & 10)

-The Super Saiyan beyond Super Saiyan: This was first seen being used by Gohan in the Cell Saga. His power started to show in the Room of Spirit & Time, but it wasn't fully unleashed until the Cell Game. It's clear that this is the most suitable form of SSJ to be used in battle with strong villains. The Saiyan's power is increased immensely and their speed does not suffer at all.
Who perform it: Gohan (DBZ Movies 9-10 & 12), Goku & Vegeta (DBZ Movies 12-13),

-Super Saiyan 3: The most powerful SSJ attained. The Saiyan's hair turns blond and their eyes turn turquoise, but the major change is that the Saiyan's hair grows to an incredibly long length and their eyebrows disappear. SSJ3 Goku may even have been the strongest character in DBZ. Being in the SSJ3 state uses up a LOT of energy and Goku ran out of energy before he could reach Full Power.
Who perform it: Goku (DBZ Movies 12 & 13) & Gotenks (DBZ Movie 13)

-Fusion Dance: A technique taught to Goku by the Metamorian. The move itself combines, or fuses, two different people into one new person. In order for fusion to work, both characters must be of the same height, and have the same power level, (if one character's power level is higher, they must lower it). If these requirements are met, then the two characters must perform a series of movements that resemble a stupid dance. Both characters must perform the movements at EXACTLY the same time, and say the words, "FuuuuSION! HA!", also in unison. If they do not complete all of this, then the resulting fused character could be disastrous. The two examples shown in DBZ is one very fat person, and a very thin and old person. However, if executed perfectly in sequence, the resulting character will be a perfect union of both characters and possess a phenomenal new strength. The movements, and thoughts of the fused warrior are not at all controlled or determined by the personalities or moves that the original two possessed. The fusion character is completely unique. All fused beings are extremely cocky, and usually taunt their opponent while taking their time playing with them. The downside of this is that Fusion only lasts 30 minutes. After 30 minutes is gone, the fusion character will split back into the two original characters.
Who perform it: Goten & Trunks (DBZ Movies 12 & 13) and Goku & Vegeta (DBZ Movie 12)
