Toriyama was borned on 5 April 1955 in Aichi. After he finished school, he was working as a graphic designer at an advertising agency. He was hired as a drawer in 1978 at a magazin in japan called "Shonen Jump". That is where he made his fisrt creation: A small story called "Wonder Island".
His first succesfull manga was "Doctor Slump". He worked on it from 1980 till 1984. Dr Slump came in 1981 on Television there in japan, and was divided in 243 episodes. Right after he finished Dr. Slump, Akira Toriyama begun working on Dragonball, and worked actually 10 years on it!!! So until 1995.He made 42 Mangas, 308 TV episodes (dragonball-153, dragonball z-291 and dragonball gt-64 episodes), a lot of games and 17 movies ( 4 DB movies and 13 DBZ) . The Dragonball episodes were shown for the first time starting on 26 February 1986 in Japan. |
