Zapican is part Charrua. He is in his 80's. Here are some pictures of him, his partner and his house. He lives about 200 meters from the hunger strike site. During the dictatorship in Uruguay he was a politcal prisoner and was tortured. He showed me some of the scars on his body.He was extremely nice to me. As sweet as anyone could hope for in this world. He is a reminder that the intelligent, creative, sensitive people who fight for their human needs and the needs of others, (also known as human rights) are often repressed in society.
